Just in case I get tempted............
Which is the best Mini Chassis to pick up? and does it have to be front wheel drive?
I love the look of the old Alfa, but might not be legal, if not is the Suzuki Swift legal ? any suggestion gratefully received !

Suzuki Swift!! You'll see a 1:1 at the races this weekend, in case anyone wants to make their model more accurately scale.

from memory, the MO3L was the car of choice, with the BMW mini cooper. altho the swift wasnt out then. either way stu, there are great fun, plus we get to use all those silver can motors we get with every Tamiya kit

Yea the RWD cars are legal and i think once setup are the best running of them all. but it will take some time to make it right out of the box they suck just ask John and them that ran mine last year in regina

Thumbs up

TRACTION COMPOUND

My thoughts !!!!!!

Rule says anything citrus based....self explanetory. TQ8 ETC. acceptable

Jack the Gripper...Officially or not. It was allowed last year, so I would say it is acceptable.Corally also has a new a product out called SXT sounds like the Nitec stuff. (Stormer lists in there Corally section)

Calgary has stated that Niftec is the "ONLY" traction compound that will be allowed on there carpet. Therefore it should acceptable at the other series venues.

The old style Paragon "NO". Apparently Paragon has a new odor free product???????.

"NO" home brew compounds.

Anything from Chernobel or Three mile island is out.

I think the primary purpose of the compound rule is to use a product that is relatively odor free and doesn't get everyone on the premises "HIGH". I read the Labels on Jack the gripper, TQ8, and the new Niftec stuff today and they all are flammable and "TOXIC" to some degree. The one thing in common, Every time I buy a can T/C is the price has gone up!!!!!! 4oz Niftec at HOBBY WHOLESALE $18.00+ with tax.....

So if you have some "STRANGE BREW" I suggest you ask the race director or a "WCIC" Rep in Medicine Hat for clarification..

Wish I could make the race this weekend, unfortunately, as usual, this time of year we are trying to complete as much work as we can before old man winter shuts us down. Dam, Gonna miss Leanns "CHILE".

TJ

WCIC reps, these are my thoughts on the issue , please add any further comments.
