HUGE HUGE HUGE Thanks to Everyone who go on-board to help get the track repairs funded
After the funding companies fees - this is the amount the check will be, which is being sent directly to Charlie to speed things up even faster, as he has scheduled work to begin on Aug. 8th.
In addition, Dan Apodaca pledged $100.00 in cash to be hand delivered to Charlie.

btw - the GO FUND ME project is still open for donations - even though the "GOAL" for the Root removal has been reached, the CAL RACEWAY is getting many upgrades, and even if you weren't in on getting the funds TO it's goal, you can still help make this awesome track better.
I believe Aug. 16th was the day I set up as the FINAL DAY to have this fund open.

Some Goofing around..Dennis thinks he is GROOT.
Driver's Stand Ramp is repaired.
Announcer's table is fixed/improved.
New Umbrella mounts put in.
All outer boards removed and painted.
Painting the Banner Frames for future advertisements and events.
Getting ashalt prepped and washed
ALL boards done

And the teardown of the asphalt begins.
DEMO TIME!
Here is where they removed some island material on the back straight to WIDEN the lane for more layout options(AKA Reedy Layout)
Back straight Root damage going away
No wonder the root did so much damage...asphalt was 1.5" thick...5.5" less than parking lot regulation

The ROOT of my problems..
Front straight DIP is fixed. Now for the fill.
applying glue for the cold fill to all the cracks
Applying the schoolyard grade asphalt
Filling all teh cracks and holes on the back straight
Now for the 1st coat of slurry.
The Back Straight looks pretty flat.
Decided to add a second coat. Lasts longer, seals better, less headaches in the future.
Almost done.
Now for some CAL Blue on the islands
Some white striping.
The track looks BEAUTIFUL!
