Just another perspective.

Is it Sunday yet? I want to drive!
Totally hear this perspective too. Kinda the same as me having a set of slicks I want to keep using. I have barcodes too but since I like to go around to different tracks I usually have several sets of tires. I understand it's an investment for sure!

Having variation makes us all better drivers and more able to compete on a new track for a big race….

I believe the decision to go away from Slicks was to attract more racers.
They didnt want to force new racers to buy new tires.

Personally, I liked slicks. Mad traction. Made tire selection easy. lol
Just setup the susp and you're done.

SCVRC was added to the Top Notch Winter series. They wanted to cater to all racers since most racers will have the treaded tires they use at other tracks.

As for tire selection now. Barcodes, Suburbs, Rattlers, and others with similar tread pattern works great.
The compound gets tricky though...
Most Wheelers run Clay or Soft.
Most Rwd buggies run Clay or Soft.
Most Midmotor buggies run Soft or Super Soft.
Tire additives are allowed.

I use Handlebars Soft all around on my MM RB6 (No Sauce and Open cell front / Closed cell Rear).

Come by and check out all the locals and check the tires they are running.
Try what you have first and check what others are running before getting a new set.
If you have an RB6, feel free to try my set and see if it works for you...

Racing tonight - Starts at 7p

I'm all for attracting more racers. I'm sure I can get you guys to water on a practice day for some fast slick action

What kind of transponders you guys running up there?

The 2 practice days I went there they watered a couple few times so every few hours or something. They just don't keep it wet.

For Transponders - I use the 2-wire Mylaps. They also have house transponders. Not sure about the 3-wire Mylaps if it will work. Not sure about the MRT's as well.

AKA Vektors - havent seen anyone use them.

The Friday series actually started to night.
I thought that the series was going to start next week. lol

The Sunday series will start this Sunday.

That's cool, how many weekends will it run? Normal start time per the website at 2:00?
Will there be one or two days that you can drop in case you can't make it every one or have a dnf?

I believe the series will be 8 races.
I'm sure there will be a couple of throw outs.
More details will be available tomorrow.

I'll see you tomorrow Fq

Right on, this track may make me get a 17.5 buggy. Raced a friends a couple times, tough to transition back & forth from 4wd SC though. This track's dirt may help me keep the rear end following the front though Tanner Foust/Starsky & Hutch style is not the fastest way to get around the track as it turns out

Fq, 17.5 blinky buggy is so much fun
Check out the times in the A-Main last night.

I am sure tomorrow will be just as good and competitive.

Let's not forget the mini8. These things are taking off here, DIALED right out of the box. So much fun driving them on this track. "BUTTER SMOOTH"

Todd and Matt spend a lot of time making sure the track is perfect. I wish it was closer to my home.
