Hey guys,

I hope to race the series this year, I just had a few questions.

Do you need to pre-register to be part of the series?

Is the fee to race the normal fee of the track hosting the event?

what is the Tekin V200 esc?

Thanks for any responces,

Jeff

YES!!!! thanks to all people who made this happen ...the best part for me is that , there is 2 saturdays schedule :D....can't wait;)

stitchy 02-10-2010 09:06 AM

"Tekin v200" refers to the version of software that is allowed for the Tekin RS and RS Pro ESCs. Any software versions over 200 (like v203) are not allowed.

SpeedTech 02-10-2010 09:47 AM

Jeff & bvalistic, happy to hear you'll be joining us this series.

The RCGT Showdown is a free series. All you pay is your normal club racing fees. No need to pre-reg. Just sign up on the day of the race.

We still have number panels leftover from Series 1, courtesy of HPI Racing. We'll distribute them to the RCGT Showdown participants at the warm up races. There should be enough for everyone... maybe.

Can anyone give any tips on tires? I picked up a set of pro belted that I will try out this Sunday. Are these the ones to run or should I get another compound as well? I've never ran RCGT before so any set up tips would be helpful. I hope to make most of the series races this year. I'm running a Cyclone TC with a 200mm MRS body and 3mm offset hpi wheels, if it makes a difference.

Thanks

J-Vet, glad you'll be joining us. You'll do fine with your Pro-Belted X-patterns. Test your car on the track and see how it does. If you have some traction issues, try the Pro non-belted X-patterns.

Danny, thanks for hooking up the RCGT racers with Mike's chorizo. :weird: Wait, that doesn't sound right. I might skip lunch that day.

SpeedTech 02-12-2010 02:02 PM

On another note...

RCGT Showdown racers, don't be afraid to sound off in the fourm. One of the keys to the success of our first series was all the chatter and attention it received from the racers themselves.

Let us know if you'll be participating. Show us your RCGT body. Let us know what tracks you'll be warming up at.

Let's make this the racer's race again.

it's a good body. when I was using it for the first time (prototype stage) it was the best thing out there. Great steering and with lots of downforce. When the production body came out, I can't seem to get it aligned properly, the front tires were rubbing everytime I turn. But I will try another one again and see.
