Ultimate F1 Series Day
#227
Ok, it's Saturday. I "WILL" be expecting some race reports from todays practice. Keep and eye on Andy and Skip. Don't let them wander off to a beach. They are not spring chickens anymore.

I just wanted to thank everyone who made it out today... I have to admit this was all purely selfish, I just wanted a day of ALL F1... I had a blast, even with the usual problems
Tim is working on making a series once a month, with this day being the first day of the series... so stay tuned for more info , you can follow on thread " F1 is alive and well in So. Cal! "
Also I got a chance to drive the 7-Up car today ... Now I know what a F1 car is supposed to feel like... wow... I've got a long way to go, but at least now I have a goal to shoot for...
Thanks everyone...

Lights?? Are this the one's I saw blinking in the back of some of the cars? They looked cool! How much-- I might like 2 of them for my cars.
Thanks
Tim
I'll be making some F-1 races after this---got my Tamiya car working and have a new HPI on the way.
Thanks

Hey Charles... I couldn't make it this weekend because my grandmother took ill Saturday night... I sent you and email.. check your "in" box
Thanks....
BTW... what "7-up" car are you referring to?
#235
Yes they are the Red blinking lights that fit perfectly into the rear hole of most F1 wings... Calvin at Camarillo made them, and he asked me to sell them for $5... There like $9 in Hong Kong if you can find them... I've got about 25 more ... I'll carry them with me for the next two weeks at the track so if you want one. hit me up...

Charles,
I would like to thank you again for your insight in creating an awesum event.
I had so much fun talking with all the guys and wrenching on my car with some new tricks I learned. What a great melting pot of F-1 nuts with all their ideas and talents. I made so many new friends too.
The TAMIYA track was the best venue for the inaugeral event. The RC Gods definatly had their hands in this events details. Congratulations to all that attended and thanks for all the memories burned into our brains.
On another subject, I wish I knew you had the lights available. I would have purchased a few for my fleet of F-1's. Can we arrange a paypal transaction?

I just wanted to mention and thank Hiro at Hot Bodies for running there New F10 in the rubber class... He was running stock hard compound tires and I was having trouble keeping up with him with a 103 with soft compound RIDE tires ... The chassis looked pretty sweet... and I guess they have a rear drive shaft you can run Tamiya wheels and tires... Anyways, Hiro came in 2nd overall to pro driver Skip Starkey in a $300 Alpha car, and even winning the final race of the day... HPI is planning to come out with more rubber compound tires as well as Tamiya for the F104... I see the future and it's 21.5 with rubber
