Default I'm looking for volunteers to compile a database of scammers.

Scammers database - search by scammer's address, phone, email, screen name, etc.

Anybody up for it? We'd have to enter the scammer's info into this form:

http://spreadsheets.google.com/viewf...hgtK8hOg&hl=en

then, in 1-2 years we would create a searchable database - so that before you buy or sell something on the forum, you can search the person's address, email etc. and the database will tell you if he is on the list.

is anybody interested in doing this? i mean going through the forum, PM'ing ppl who have been scammed, asking them for the scammer's address, entering it into the database, etc. it's gonna be a lot of work, but if we did we could all benefit. I know some innocent people might get black listed, but imo it does not matter.

Not a good idea. Do your own research. It is easy. No innocent people get blacklisted then.

Default what happens if ?

Good idea in concept but bad idea if someone whose name was posted got hurt? It would open you up to a multitude of lawsuits. Drop the idea !

Good intentions but its to simple to leave feedback. Would work just like on ebay if someone left you neg. feedback, people would leave you one in return.. One if a persons lucky. Just like some of the deadbeat scammers on here who create new names and bombard people THEY screwed with negative feedback.. Would be a great tool if somehow could get it setup for it to be more honest, ya know?

imagine a database where you search by shipping address to see if it belongs to one of the scammers who cleverly created a new username and is scamming all over again?

Legal Basis? = Civil Court = Defemation of Character. Loss of Income.
And then there are the kickers just for more $$ .. calims of harrassment, depression etc etc..

and as far as how they would know who you are? ANY information is obtainable. You leaving this very post can lead someone to your doorstep, your workplace, or whatever.. with the right know how or as the case may be.. the Judge's signature.

Thatd be a good way to do it I guess. Im not sure, but is it legal to post peoples info on the net? Might be something to look into as well. It would kick ass though to have a huge list of whos good and whos bad though.
