I do know how to bolt an engine together, so now I'm really confused. I'm tempted to pull the whole thing apart and see how far through the sleeve that the piston can get to.

How much is it for a new Piston/sleeve or a better .12 engine? The Nosram looks interesting.[/QUOTE]

buy new head bolts they do stretch every time you loosen and tighten its possible they might be bottoming out if all you did is pull it apart and put it back together and your comp dropped you must have done something wrong

turbine
piston and sleve is $120 new engine $160
i have never had a nosram but most of the guys running them havnt had much luck with them
a good running hyper 12 with the pullstart off is very quick as well as ash proved last race meet
as our track is a driving track not so much speed its all about finishing in one piece something costa has trouble with he he ( sorry mate )
the piston sould not go though to top of the sleve at all if i does u have trouble
i trashed my first engine very quickly in car park by running lean it very easy done

If that's the case, then I'll go straight for a new engine. This is getting ridiculous. I can't put my finger on what has changed from taking the head off to putting it back on. I've used new bolts and tightened correctly with the star pattern.

No, not yet. I'm hoping to get the car sorted and get out there. But if it turns out I need a new engine that could be a bit longer.
