I'm running 16/61 23/56, i think that comes to a ratio of 7.63:1 for first and 4.87:1 for second. It went lean after the 30 min final at moorebank last club day. But i think it might be the o-ring seal in the fuel tank, i was told you can get different kinds for the RRR lid and a guy told me to get the other one and it will stop it from going lean. My engine aint tuned very well either  so it all factors in to equal it running bad, it's not too bad though i think bottom end is too rich and top end is too lean. |

Matt you need to speak to Rick "kyosho man" Bartolozzi at moorebank. he is the king of V1RRR and i remember a while back him speaking about a fix for the tank. DEAD SET MARRISTIVE YOU HAVE TO RACE AT SMA THIS SUNDAY MAN!!! |
Yeah i'll have to give him a call, he has already helped me out heaps getting my car sorted and sharing his secret setups  if he helps me any more i'm going to start beating him :( then he won't be my friend

Venom Von Beethoven .. I have a christening on man.. im throwing up ! Cant let the family down ..
MM :) |
Nick Mallhasslehoff And Mallstar Karristink went to the " None Other Than A MassiveMods Car Headquaters Official Malakia Super Kar Yard " or " NOAMM CHOMSKY " ... today to test the new fuels ... it was a blast and Mr Chomsky took lap times with his trusty timex watch ... We managed to get the temps down toa super cool 6 below .. We then sat beers around the cooling head ...

all the terms i use are highly technical pychobabble speak. |
Me and Nick did a tag team on that one Von Venom ... lol it was a satisfying crawl down the tubes to nuttsville.. Seriously man when you inhale as much nitro as i do every day you tend to get a little happy .. lol

Hi Guys And Gals
I just realised while we are all having an awesome time on this thread playing silly buggers , there should be some interesting if not useful information avalable for all those in the nitro world. Today id like to shed some light on oil technology, probably the most crutial component to your fuel. As im researching oils i am learning how they all work and why. While i wont bore you with extraneous statistics and measurements i will however give a very simeple explanation as to how oils work in our application. Oil Viscosities are a key factor to a happy and long lasting engine. Working with oils that suit applications is even more important. Within the application of a nitro 2 stroke engine when chosing an oil, operating temps are crutial. What determines the oil's efficientcy to protecting the internals against shearing are the properties of the oil while at these temps. So lets say the operating temps are from say 25deg c to about 110 deg c , this maps the oils journey from the tank to the combustion chamber. Now while i dont want to waffle on about stuff that is not useful what i want to do is explain how important it is to warm an engine before you put too much stress on the internals. Oils generally wont do their job untill they get to about 60 deg c in the crank case, so it is important to warm an engine to at least this temp before you go revving it to 40 000 rpm ! What happens to the cst (centistoke ) value of an oil is it reduces from say 300 cst at start up to about 65 cst at 60 deg c . Normal cst perameters for an operating engine ideally would range from 100 cst to 16 cst .. So to warm an engine is crutial to its longevity. The major part of the wear happens when we exceed these temp perameters either plus or minus .. What we have done is select ceratin oils that reflect the optimum cst values within this range, on top of this we have blended other oils in smaller amounts that will protect the engine when it is outside of these ideal temps.. These are the oils that will be used in the new range of fuels soon to be released. While the current blend of oils being used are still excellent what the new oils will do is offer far superior shearing protection to the internals of your engine, the goal is to make an engine last longer. While the new range of fuels will be more expensive , you will be happy to know where your extra dollar is going. The superior qualities of the new oils allow us to run lower amounts of oil to help increase performance with sanctioned events where 16% and 25% nitro content are the limit. Im excited to offer these new products as soon as possible. I Hope this has been informative and give some sort of insight as to how to care for your engine.. Cheers MM |
Hey Guys !
Congratulations to Ruben Vesozo for coming second in part 2 of the Autumn challenge out at Liverpool off road ! He managed to TQ and win all the heats and was leading pretty much the whole final but lost a hinge pin which only slowed him down.. Still leading the piont table for the Autumn Challenge ! On Ya Consistant Rube ! Hey how were the results from the weekend, and news from Tumn - Peh ? I know Griffo went water skiing .. lol Matty ? Ross ? wha wha wha !! lol Cheers MM |
