has anyone ordered from shapeways?
I just want a $15 part, but the shipping alone is $20..... seems excessive.
I've been spoiled by amains $1.99 shipping, $20 is hard to swallow.

I use them quite often. Shipping can be high but very high quality is there.
is it something that you designed or from a shape ways shop. if its your design then there is also
http://3dprint-au.com
an Australian company doing the same sort of printing. Shipping is definitely cheaper but you can't get the "polished" prints from them.

However after thinking about it, it wouldn't really save us much. As I would still need to post out to you($7-9)
It would only work out if you were a local as well....edit, oh yeh you are local haha
OR if we got a few more people onboard.
So, anyone else keen? Just post on this thread. I may give this a week or two before I place the order.

if your after a part that is really strong take a look at a print service using Markforged printers , when you reinforce their nylon cf blend called Onyx with carbon fibre filament its 24 times stronger than ABS and stronger than 6061 T6 Aluminium .
try cac.works/
based on central coast
hope that helps
