Default its all different.....confusing sometime but for the.LAST..\

.....12 years, i have been limiting my order to US $400 or $420 including post. there were instances that i had to pay A$50-A$55 tax only because it went over the cut-off of A$50 and over. On those particular days, the US dollars was stronger against the oz dollars so my calculation was off.
...it was mentioned earlier that if the total Taxable figure due is less than a$50, its more than likely to be waived. this does not guarantee that no tax will be collected. i have paid tax twice under the A$50 mark.to calculate the import tax , its best to go to the site.

i received 3 parcels this week from 3 different countries using 3 different postal service. all amounts are close to US$400. NO TAX WAS DUE.

ONE OF THE PARCEL IS FROM RCMODEL....NO PROBLEM THERE (MY 16TH ORDER FROM THIS SELLER)...

couldnt agree more. we dont have a local hobby shop or had any form of hobby shop selling or supporting beginners with rc car stuff (that you can take an race to get interest) in tamworth since george left and headed to sydney (hobbytown) years ago...

i get almost all of my stuff from sydney anyway and only pay 5 to 10aud dollars more or the same price as i would if i bought the items overseas most of the time within reason (of course depending on items where talking about and who imports them...).

also, it would be a little hard getting warranty of overseas suppliers wouldnt it? as many dont send any recipts etc or provide any proof purchase for warranty purposes.

If no one buys locally then the shops wont be there.

And that will piss us all off.

We are losing a shop in Windsor because the electric drivers didnt support it. ( I run nitro)

It wont be long before we see shops in other places take a dive.

I have been stung by parcels not arriving from OS shops, so I would prefer to get it locally, pay the $$ and walk out with the goods.

I'm just getting back into the hobby and i'm buying just about all my stuff from OS. It all adds up to a saving of over $1500 aud!

I'm buying in lots of $400 or under (expect for the car) to try and avoid tax. But even if you get pinged and need to pay tax. It's not gonna be $1500.

This hobby is expensive enough as it is. This is a good way of reducing the costs.

To the workbench!
