Dragon26, so you have no R/C business in Vic who support RC? Think about it, HobbyX are based in Sydney, who else are they going to support?
Anyway, talk about charging battries, not being jealous of sponsored drivers. BK, thanks for your tips, I tried them out, but can't really tell what type of difference they made as our track was covvered in about 2mm of dust. |
i too would vouch for BK - berescoe is correct in his apprasial of character.
sponsored drivers have a vested interest in running good gear, it is what will keep them at the front and hence sponsored... you dont see the hx team running the cen cars? now they would probably do a very good job of butt kicking if they did. if someone is a better driver and gets sponsored good luck to them, and the only ones i have met have been very helpful and friendly. bloddy bigpond users as for batteries i store my 3000hv's with 1500mah discharge the night before use and charge at 4.5a. but i generally dont do so good at big events (or little ones:lol: ) so perhaps my advice is not worth the pixels its printed on! |
Contact, do you run stock?
|
I charge my TEAM TRINITY ULTRA METAL 3000's at 5.5 amps at 3mv, for stock. At big meetings charge at 6amps, for that added punch.. i discharge them after race at 20 amps till 5.4 volts then put them ona trinity raltime 2 discharger, then put 1000 mah into the pack for the next week's meeting. discharge the night befor then charge on the day. works well for me.
Unlike nicads.. i do not dead short them nor store them at zero volts.. and as the USA drivers say charge at up to 10 amps.."do not do this unless you baught the pack for that day only  .. and besides doing this at 10 amps may give you a small increment in punch but if you touch a dome or go off line onece or twice then that extra punch isnt worth it..because the advantage you just had has been lost. ths gain in charging at 10 amps just isnt worth the risk or the benefts.. |

thanks contact, r u running the nats?
Painy, thanks for your input, I've been told that charging at anything more then 5amps would trash the battires, have you noticed any type of degradation after you've charged at 6amps? |
im going up for a look see but not running - too many people, im too afraid!!!
|
mate i can feel the punch. and havent sacrificed and runtime mabey a few sec's, but with the numbers allready.. no big deal.. i run stock and love the ultras.. i treat my fantom HV's the same.
|
That reminds me..anyone want to buy my HV's?? iam trying to run one brand only..and its not fantom. offer me a price.. i have 5 and they still go great only had 20 runs. If that,

Originally posted by dragon26 My name is John Caval, I have seen sponsored drivers come and go. Much of the info they pass on is to promote their product which most of the times is inferior that is why drivers need to be sponsored to push the product. If hobbyx is such a great company why didnt they chip in for the vic titles ? They were asked for $100 and said no. (I hope they enjoyed the phone call from orion in sweden) you must be kidding about decent price, talk to stock drivers and see how much a stock motor is going for. Oh sorry I forgot sponsored drivers only pay 1/2 or less. blacky- you know absolutely nothing of me, I don't only have old 1700 to draw experience from I am currently using most types of cells. HobbyX are the best at supporting racing in nsw. So we push inferior products do we???? Well names like Novak, Orion and CoRally are not bad products at all and I know if these products were not the top line products then why would we use them and some of the top drivers in the world use them. Mate, go back to Tonka trucks it suits you better and you can act your age. Also look behind your back......People are laughing. Coxy. |
Actually it wasn't a phone call it was a simple e-mail.
Did I say hobbyX drivers promote inferior products ? I'm sure it says: "...sponsored drivers come and go. Much of the info they pass on is to promote their product which most of the times is inferior " Does it say hobbyX drivers ? Does it say orion ? Novak ? Go back to prep and learn to read. Your name coxy rings true, all that is missing is the head after it. Do you believe it really worries me what people think ? Hey one other thing coxy - you ever been mistaken for a man ? |
LOL settle down girls.
It is true i have seen sponsored drivers come and go, but the ones who pass on crap advice dont stay sponsored very long, i have seen this happen to a number of people. If the products are not upheld with dignity in both their performance and their presentation other people will not go to the LHS and purchase them. BTW coxy after hearing what you spend on your haircuts, and the whining you do you do seem like a bit of a bitch. LOL (Oh Oh, i bet i get hacked first lap of the 1/12th Nats now, from the pretzel mobile |
How funny was that. All it did was just make my laugh Dragon26. Surley that was what it was intended to do. I can see the joke now. Good one mate I thought you were for real.
Sorry for mistaking you. Hey good one about the "Coxy Head" joke, I have never heard that one before. Coxy. |
Dragon26, how do you charge your battries/ this is what this thread was all about.
|
This is why I stayed away from electrics
