BRCMS - On Road

Hey guys

Since the new committee has be up for over a month now, figured we better start a new thread for the On Road and Off Road sections of the club, for those of you that don't know, BRCMS (Brisbane Radio Controlled Motor Sports) is also known as Hobbystation :) The committee is working closly with our members to create an ejoyable race exprience. Please post ideas, comments and general chat about the onroad section here!

Currently we are looking for ideas for some "novelty races" for hte on road. Thigns that have been tabled are caravan races, enduro etc.. so more ideas the better!

For anyone interested in drifting, we have a huge drifting group that regulary race at the track most sundays so come on down!

Cheers guys.

Matt

We are also currently trialling our new software for running races, called RC Scoring Pro, so if you want to see what a race night looks like without computer problems, come on down!

Cheers Matt. That's right, drifters usually turn up on Sundays, and we have a drift comp each month. We had one last month and we had 17 entrants!. Here's October's Drift comp Details....

BRCMS - Hobbystation Drift Comp 4 - Saturday October 22nd 2005.

* Turn up at 5pm to start at 6pm SHARP!

* The championship is open to both electric, and nitro cars - Tyres must be either PVC or ABS, & the Motor type is unrestricted!

* $10 to enter - Please bring cash as eftpos will not be available (there is an eftpos machine around the corner at the Shell petrol station)

We're implementing some changes to the last comp as we'd like to see the atmosphere that was similar to the final between Dan and Koday  We'll be running eliminations again, but the stages per round, will be as follows....

Stage 1 - Tandem Drift 2 laps in one direction - first to the finish line wins

Stage 2 - Tandem Drift 2 laps opposite direction - first to the finish line wins

Stage 3 - This stage will exist Only if there is a draw from the first 2 stages. A technical drift of 1 lap with least errors wins the round.

There's Music at the track, and we do a pizza run for about $5 each on the night. Soft drink cans are also available from the store. Air conditioned pit areas are available with full tables and seating areas. If you're coming along to watch and are interested in getting involved, have a chat with Leo about sorting out a deal on a package for you!.

The current title holder is Dan - Who's up to the challenge of taking away his title?!! :sneaky:

For those that are new to drifting or would like to check it out - please come along! It would be appreciated if you could spread the word, and encourage participants to enter - Thanks and we'll see you there for a fun night!!

Hey guys, bit of an announcment here,

BRCMS (AKA Hobbystation) are changing their on road race date. Their new race date will be every SECOND Sunday, on the SAME weekend as the off Road Meet. This means, that this week, On Road Racing will have its last race night on Friday. From then onwards, racing will be every second SUNDAY.

Racing starts at 1:30pm, with Nominations to open at 1pm!

See you all there!

Also, as a result of the switch over to the new race system, the points series is now finished on both on and off road as we points program will not translate between the the two. Winners will be announced asap.

Cheers guys

May i ask why the change?
Now that brendale won't be open for a while i will have to shelf my car for a few months.

hawker 10-19-2005 09:29 PM

Check my above post we have changed it again due to other clashes.

The main reason is, we were normally running every friday night, the numbers were too spread out to make it viable, so we have collapsed the two race nights into a single day.

We haven't forgotten about the drifters, no doubt some drifting might be a good side shower during the race days hehe

bigtez 10-19-2005 09:47 PM

woops. probably should change my avatar. its a bit misleading. i no longer drift. i usually race at brendale on friday nights cause other commitments prevent me from racing on saturadays and sundays. now that they are starting the revamp for the worlds it will be closed till next year i believe. i know there was a few of us that had planned to race at archerfield on friday's instead.
nowthat i have had my winge i am a little happier. no doubt it will be better for brcms and its other racers.

By any chance would you know the actual date of the first Sunday meeting as I don't even know when off road is.......Thanks :D

tones 10-19-2005 10:51 PM

it'll be the sundays opposite to wynnum, so the 30th of this month should be the first race meet.

as far as i know tomorrow night is still on and will be the last friday night race meeting.

SchuMi2 10-19-2005 11:12 PM

Thanks tones......I will be in Perth that w'end doing my pitting duties so 2 weeks after that will be my first one :D

Thought anymore about Melb 26/27th Nov :)

Just a reminder guys that the drift comp is definitely on this Saturday night regardless of there being any rain. For those that don't know. the event is on at Unit 2/31, Brecknock St, Archerfield, off Beatty Road.

The venue is in an enclosed building with full lighting and electricity available. Sometimes, some rain drops through to some parts of the track, but we'll have people helping out drying the small 3 or so patches between rounds if it is actually raining. The weather forecast on the news last night said that Saturday will have no rain anyway. We'll see you there!

Well I'm confused,

I only just noticed Hawker changed what he posted previously but before it said that there won't be any racing this Friday night and racing will be starting THIS sunday afternoon.

Because of this, I hadn't bothered charging Batteries for Alycia and myself yet. We both will not be present at racing Tonight as a result.

We fear change!

Does the On road have to be on the same weekend as the Off road? Just wondering.

Matt, Just in case it would make any difference don’t count any points for me in the On road modified class as I spent half of this season on foam tyres in a supposedly rubber tyre class…Thanks Stuey. P.S. T-shirts will soon be available from www.IH8rubber.com

tones 10-20-2005 06:04 PM

unfortunatly the onroad has to be that weekend to miss wynnum and the offroad has to be the same weekend to miss ipswich.
