Lipo race pack question
On hobbyking.com they sell a plastic case the is designed to be used with soft cell lipo to make them more like a hard case. If this is used can you run soft cells on a race meet?

The point of a hard case is to protect the battery & help contain fire if something goes horribly wrong. Even with that silicon cover, the battery could still be easily punctured by a sharp object or damaged from a hard hit/collision.
Hobbyking do sell the Turnigy range of hard case batteries, which some are ROAR approved and therefor approved to race at sanctioned events in Australia. Some race clubs may also have a policy in place stating approved hard case batteries are needed to race at the club, best off to check this with the race directors of your local club.
Cheers
Rob.
