Well I remember setting fire to a NiCd pack sitting on the edge of the engine bay as a kid, scary stuff when you get distracted and forget, later on I had a wind up mechanical timer version, still dangerous as hell...

And then you wonder what all the fuss is about with modern LiPo and chargers that have more safety functions then you could have ever dreamed about way back when...

I did the same thing with my dads work car, got called in for dinner,when i came back out the battery was melting
