AMB Transponder info
Hi Guys
I have been involved in RC racing since 1998.
To help clubs afford to keep running rechargeable transponders I offer a battery replacement service. So if your club's transponders are not lasting the distance, have them fixed by me.
Also on my web site I have some pretty helpful info on how to care and maintain your AMB system.
If you are looking for an instruction manual for an AMB20 or AMBrc system they are free to download from here.

Happy to assist with any AMB system related problems for free via email.
Cheers!

Rod there is no such personal transponder for an AMB20 system, personals only work on AMBrc that is why the Summer Nats aren't running personals.

thanks for the replies, I was just curious as I came across this company manufacturing personal transponders for AMB 20 system and wondered if they also worked for AMBrc,

I think that you can use a personal on the old system, BUT it only recognises the LAST number (on your personal). Imagine trying to sort out finals with frequncy clashes AND transponder issues too!!

Hi Rod, our MRT personal (T1-10) transponder only works with the AMB20 system. The AMB20 system is analogue and the AMBrc system is digital. However both systems use magnetic induction to detect the transponders.
splitty you can't use an AMBrc personal on the older AMB20 system but the new AMBrc decoder can operate so that it only sends out the last digit of the 7 digit transponder id number, this means the AMBrc system can work with older race control software that is designed for the single digit output like the AMB20 decoder. If the AMBrc transponder (hand out or personal) was say 1234567 the software would 'see' it as xxxxxx7 if there was another with say number 1357927 it would also be recognised as xxxxxx7 so that's where there's a limitation. It's probably best to upgrade your race control software to a version designed to work with the AMBrc system.
Sorting out transponder numbers is easy with the T1-10, press the button and select the number you want it's as easy as that. Clubs that run the AMB20 system can run personals alongside their normal hand out transponders. With AMB20 transponders now being obsolete the T1-10 is a useful alternative.
