How old do young kids have to be in order to become members and come club racing.
Also what's involved to race weekly on Friday nights, As both my kids want to race mini's and possibly F1 once up to pace and not going to piss off other competing members.

Hi Brad,

Generally there's no real age restriction when it comes to kids wishing to race at the club, and we have a novice class where kids can race there cars, be it touring, mini, or F1.

There's power available at the track, and what you'd need to bring is a table & chairs for yourself, (we do have a limited number of tables & chairs if you cant bring your own). A 240 volt extension lead, & power strip are also something suggested that you bring along.
The track and pitting area are under cover so we race regardless of the weather, unless it's very extreme like on the weekend. Also suggest bringing warm clothing during the winter months.
We also have a canteen with warm/cold drinks, snacks & food such as hot dogs/pies etc.

On every 2nd Friday of the month we have a dedicated mini class, so when your kids are confident enough after racing in novice they may wish to join in the fun. Video of our last Mini night - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hU7eWeGYS9M

Classes we usually race:

Novice
F1
21.5 Sportsman touring car
13.5 Stock touring car
Modified touring car

If we get 3 or more of a different class, a race may be created for them.

Mate thanks for getting back to me.
That's great news there is no age restriction, unlike some Of the clubs I have been involved with over my past 30 years of Racing RC where its hard to get the kids involved and race as a family.
We have been popping out once a month to watch and also so I could gauge If the kids are interested In RC Racing.
Which It look like they are, so Its time to join a club and To be honest I like the professionalism of Castle Hill and its setup.

No worries, glad I was able to help.
One of our newest members also has his daughter racing alongside him in the novice class (even though he's quicker I reckon his daughter is more consistent)

Look forward to saying HI, and don't be afraid to ask questions as pretty much everyone at the club will be willing to answer to the best of their ability.

Hey Rob,

I thought what may be cool if you did a pit walk everytime you did a video. Maybe interview a different driver per week or few weeks and ask some general questions, what class you're racing, what you're driving etc.

Make it feel semi pro haha

That was something I have been thinking about of lately, not sure how if people would like that or not, but will ask to gauge if it would be ok to add to the videos.
