Glenn, we have had this brought up before and it was just a joke. It would be best to identify yourself properly to guarantee that you are serious |

Glenn, we have had this brought up before and it was just a joke. It would be best to identify yourself properly to guarantee that you are serious As i mentioned im am just trying to get an idea of how many people are interested. The track size will be about the size of a tennis court. There are still alot of things to be worked out before any decisions will be final hope this helps with your question and others Glenn |
Provided this is a legitimate post, I think the racers of Sydney would embrace the chance to race indoors on CARPET !!
|
Bring it out in the open, otherwise it's just another load of b/s

I just want to know if there is enough interest to make it viable Thankyou |
Glenn,
Racing on the rug will be awesome, but your giving some more details will let you know if its a viable thing. If the location is close by you will get a bunch of racers, when are you planning to run? Weekdays or Weekends etc etc We have had promises of carpet racing before and has fizzled to nothing. |
carpet racing would be good.
Glenn can you give us an idea of location? eg near a major centre? South western sydney, north western>? penrith etc |

As most people own a car and if they wanted to drive on carpet they would travel the distance required.I would like to have it close to public transport as possible so those who dont can still come play Depending on numbers will decide which night or weekends are run Thanks Glenn |

If you are going to build a permanent facility then you'll be paying rent 7 days a week, you might want to look into running 2 nights a week. One weeknight, and one weekend. As you can see you have people here interested in both. I think the fact that people are asking you to declare this isn't a hoax tells you just how much interest there is here for this. Threads pop up all the time about potential new tracks in all types of places, and no one disbelieves them. But you mention carpet in a major population centre, and it's like you're promising Nirvana, no one is quite willing to believe in it. |

Thankyou It's a shame, but I think our market is just too small to sustain. And whilst you'll hear lots of enthusiasm from people, whether or not they'll put their money where their mouth is and keep coming back week after week is another matter. If on the other hand you're doing it for the love of the sport, and are prepared to tirelessly (and thanklessly) pour hundreds of hours into it (not to mention $1,000's of dollars) then go right ahead ;) Cheers, Scott |
I can't see a track working as a business by a racer because they look at the wrong market. Providing for racers is not profitable.
