Its actually quite a lot more flexible compared to the MS.

Heya GUys.

Just wondering how loose ppl run their belts in their 415's???

Mine seem to have stretched quite a bit lately, now are starting to slip so i tightened the rear one 3 notches tighter and it starting slipping again within a few runs

MSX seems good tho, so far so good Ran it for the first time today and was impressed!

Sorry to be a bit unscientific but I’m not sure how to measure flex. I might need to build a flexometer ?

yeah the MSX is quite a bit more flexible than the MS. The top deck has slots at the front and rear to facilitate flex and the new bulkheads really don't do much more than the std MS items in the flex area. Then you also have to take into account (for those that run them) the lack of side braces in the MSX. But with lower CG the the higher flex may be needed to generate grip along with softer suspension. What I am hoping is that the car is harder to tweak than the std MS which you could tweak my looking at it.

ALso the MSX is worlds above when it comes to maintenance. Finally the thought of changing a belt no longer makes me actually consider the possiblity of running he car as a 2wd.

Also got the DJ suspension, that also is a very nice bit of gear. Whether it works or not is another question. Will see how it goes on Friday.

MSX does seem to have a fair bit more flex than a Std Kit MS, probably about the same as your modded car Dragon.

Re belt tension, i always run them so that they are taught, but not tight, on the rear belt you should be able to move it around 5mm quite easily, front one maybe so it nearly touches each other under pressure.

Tighter will be slightly less efficient, but will give the car a lot more punch. Beware of running loose, the belts will fail a lot quicker, and the centre pulleys will wear a lot faster.

Heya.

Thanks Bradd.

I think i must have run mine too loose when i first built it and ran 19t on carpet. Its gotten progressively worse the last 2 times i have ran it and now the belts do seem worn.

Can someone tell me what parts the TA04/TB02 light weight suspension set includes. Is it worth getting for TA05?

Also, is the 415 'Worlds' kit worth getting for the TA05? Which blocks are included and what degree are the alloy rear hubs?

Cheers,
Scotty P.

I believe all the 415 suspension gear works on the TA05,

the TA05 is pretty good car, but a bit heavy and plenty of chassis flex,

Scott

The Suspension kit includes everything from the hinge pins out, as for wether its worth it, i never liked the old suspension, the new one is not only physically lighter, i find it much more adjustable, and much more stable to drive.

As for weight, the TA05 is a heavy car, but with all the alloy and Ti parts, all options and oneways i think it is around 30 grams overweight, so not a big defecit. The chassis flex will aid in handling on most surfaces, and will allow a much wider margin of tuning.

As for the worlds kit, you get the zero degree hubs, a direct centre spool for the 415, and 1 of each of the narrox X series blocks. As for worth it, you would have to add up the parts seperately, and you will be left over with the centre pulley which you wont be able to use. (Note that these do wear out pretty fast so you should be able to sell to a 415 driver easily)
