Hey Guys,

Just starting the thread,
I have heard of 2 totally differend dates for the NSW titles in Illawarra. I am getting 18-19th Sept, but i am also hearing 25-26th Sept.
On our VIC calander it's the 18-19th Sept, and on the Illawarra site it says that too, but on some other NSW sites it say the 25-26th Sept.
Quite a few of us Victorians are coming up, and we would like to know the offical dates so some of the working guys can get some time off work.

After you have finished there, just keep heading north to Brisbane for the QLD On-Road State Titles on the 2nd & 3rd of October.

Surface is on concrete at the moment, so rubbers will be the go.

i would love to enter. what classes are there? what motor batt limits are there?

i want to buy a xxx4 losi graphite? what class does it fit into? or is there only 2wd class?

There are truck, 2wd buggy and 4wd buggy classes, you could enter 4wd stock or 4wd mod with a xxx4. I believe the meet is being run under AARCMCC rules...

Good to see some more people getting into offroad. You're not likely to find a XXX-4 G+ for the price you were wanting to pay though. Have you thought about 2WD? You'll probably get more use out of it at club meets etc and the price is about what you were thinking for a decent one. I think ScottyP has a good 2WD Losi for sale at the moment...

Rules are basically the same as onroad but I think brushless will be outlawed in buggy classes before too long. You probably won't want to run a 6T hacker anyway though. 3300's no limit mod etc etc.

Pretty much everything has been said about the rules, it's going to be a great event, the track is looking good, and its going to be fast!

Whats the format for the 2 days. 4wd / Truck one day 2wd the next ???

Don't forget that the warm up meeting the state titles will be on 5th of September. 4th round of the off-road club challenge Judgemant Day.

the format should usually be 4wd and truck on Sat and 2wd on Sun.

which buggies are the most popular in 4wd and 2wd? am i guessing right if i think losi?

i like the 4wd xxx4 as it seems like a better "bashers" buggy.

would a stock motor push these things around at a good rate?! i want speed and big jumps man!
so when is the date for the event?

In 4wd, the Losi XXX-4 G+ is the most popular. In 2wd the Associated B4 is probably the most popular but there are some top drivers that are Losi faithful. Also depends on where you race, ie if you race at Maitland and have a B4 you'll probably be one of the few, however at CH the Losi is the least popular.

The XXX-4 G+ is not a bashers car. Far too expensive for maintenance. I chewed through the aluminium driveshafts in about 5 meets. Tyres cost more and the car is far more fragile than its 2WD cousins. The advantage is that coming from onroad you'll probably be quicker sooner in a 4wd. 2wd will teach you throttle control much better though...

Stock motors will go OK in a 4wd but it gets a bit boring, mods much better. If you go 2wd running stock is quite quick. I actually found mod 4wd easier to drive than stock 4wd for some reason.
