Quantum Competition 2 ESC Problem
#1
Hi all, I bought a QC2 2 months ago from a shop in HK and i used it for the 1st time last Sunday and all was going well until the 3rd heat when my switch snapped off.
I've fixed that by connecting the 2 wires together so i had no switch which worked fine but then the 5th race i landed very hard on my motor and lost everything. No power to the esc at all....as well with no steering.
Got home and tested to see if it was the esc, battery or the reciever with the other esc and recievers and batts and i found that the speedy was the problem. No lights come on at all.....
Does anyone know where i can go to fix the damn thing? Any hobby shops in the Brisbane/Gold Coast area?
Or do i need to send the thing to LRP in America?
Thanks
Alan.

I've got a similar problem like yours. Though mines still working but glitching on power. Best thing to do is email LRP direct. I got mine from Japan so I have to send it to HPI Japan as they are the distrubitors.

yeah i had mine catch fire on wednesday night, im posting it back to the distributors in newcastle for warranty replacement.
im scared at how often these speedys fail
i've had so many people tell me not to get one cause they catch fire & break down so often... shouldnt LRP be doing a recall if this many are fucking up?

oh, and for anyone who's interested, the photos
photos!
btw, that receiver unit was 5 hours old at the time, i was about to go on a holy jihad to kill all of LRP if that thing was dead as well
oh, and my real car still wreaks of electrical fire 3 days later (it caught fire while it was in the back seat of my car), i'm lucky it didnt set fire to the car, cause that really woulda been bad

And they still say Brushless systems fail all the time. I have seen so many of these LRP's go up now it's not funny, actually all brands for that matter. It really is a joke how bad they are now. I think they should all re think the marketing plan to have the smallest most unreliable speedy on the market.
I really would not know where to turn if I was to buy a brushed speedy now, maybe just get the schulze one that does brushed and B/L.
Anyway sorry to see that it melted.

It seems now you get a small speedy, add a large cap to it (Novak style) add a heats shink to it (LRP Style) add a diode to it (Ko Style) and it's now larger than the ESC that were out years and years ago. Oh and now they make them water proof in a gel. Looks like no fixing them when they blow now in that gel case (mtronic style), good plan.
Coxy.
