digital steering servo problem

just noticed a fault with my thunder tiger digital servo, at times it wont drive in one direction from neutral, if i go full left and right it never misses a beat.
i can hear the high frequency signal from transmitter movement trying to drive the servo but it just freezes now and again, then comes to life

any thoughts? i know its not the best brand but hasnt let me down so far, its the one with the silver heatsink case.

sounds like a stripped gear, pull the top of it and you will probably find the small plastic gear is missing some teeth.

but sometimes it drives sometimes it doesnt, sounds more like the digital circuit/motor has issues to me.

Open it up and have a look. Then it eliminates that option

Does it only happen with that servo? If so check soldering of servo leads to circuit board.
If not, it may be a transmitter problem, potentiometer.
