I dont think it will crack. I washed the body out with mild soap then sanded it with 800 grade paper then washed it again. After applying each coat i dried it with a hair dryer. I finished it off with some faskolor black backing. The paint i used from Auto Air is new it has bond All and catalyst in it already to help it bond to plastic.

just the soap will do
