The Alpha engine is a very nice (and affordable!) donk! I ran one in Truggy at the SA state titles without fail (TQ'd 2 + rounds from memory too). O'Reilly can sort you out with one

will be interesting to see how you go

how I go will be interesting... rubbish I expect given it will be the first offroad gas outing
anyway back on topic - my F850 started up first time and ran in really well. given the price and the fact that it certainly runs a lot better than my last nitro engine (in the 90's) I am looking forward to racing it.
with ryan lutz running them in the states it will be good to see how he goes against the factory boys

Hey Andrew
Would you please be able to tell me a few more details about which model alpha engine you were running, pipe and glow plug you were running please. please.
Thanks
Brendan

I heard he only ran it in the quals - he then took it out when it came to the business end of the meet?
Perhaps he too experienced the problem some of the Alphas seem to have - not holding a tune ?
I dont claim to be a tuning guru (nor do me mates) but we have given up on trying to get my Alpha to hold its tune reliably for any longer than a tank. I can get my tuning screwdriver around LRP, OS, GO and Ninja engines (all of which I have owned/own) but this one has done my head in.
My 5c, going back to watch some tennis now

Heh, first it was GO's throwing rods, then it was MM fuel blowing bearings and now ALPHA not holding tune. All common problems that everyone seems to have with these "newcomers" but most won't experience. I'm just waiting that we'll have a thread of all the OS throwing rods or loosing compression after 1.5gallon and Novas blowing bearings and flaming out randomly/always after refill....or wait, it's not gonna happen as they are far better quality and claiming above it's just the knock-off users BS.
