Venom

It is a sad time for RC Tech when they allow a product like Venom advertising. It is well known through the RC racers that if you want to buy the worse product on the market Venom’s the way to go. I am not the only one that has bad reports about the crap they try and shove down our throats. I made a very expensive mistake buy purchasing a venom product as I was assured they have picked their game up, I should have listened to myself I lost a $2500 remote controlled plane because of venom. After retrieving the product I sent it back to test it and it was faulty, but no there was no warranty or even a replacement. My word of advice if you guys are willing to spend money on a venom product you may as well flush your money down the toilet as this is where the product will end up.

The cheapy stuff should be pretty obvious to stay away from under hobby grade use.

Venom make good stuff i think.
Just because they offer entry level products to consumers doesnt mean they're crap. I've used heaps of venom products that have had no problems at all. Any brand offering cheaper products will not compare to something 4 times its price from another brand.
You cant call HPI crap cause they make an E10 but then call Tamiya great cause of their TRF416.....
If you pay peanuts you get monkeys which is the same with any brand.
Just my 2c

When i first started racing Venom was a product which was budget bashing equipment.
However, it is my impression that lately Venom has been gearing their products to include more products which are specifically geared towards racers.
They just seem to rebadge stuff, but a lot more of the stuff is equipment which racers are already using at a better price.
Times change, perhaps you need to check out some of their stuff....

Originally Venom were more about the basher and beginner market - giving reasonable products for people that did not have a million bucks to spend on higher end products. I know - I ran a hobby shop for 2 years.
More recently, racers have started taking note of some of the products that Venom are marketing - as they are exactly the same or better than other branded products, at significantly better prices.
You will never please all racers all the time - as we are a group of tightarses, expecting Breitling quality and performance at Casio prices.
You get what you pay for. Honestly - some of the product coming from Venom now is every bit as good as the products that have a different sticker on them for twice the price or more.
Venom seems to get slagged a bit, I reckon it is more an Aussie "problem" that we have - it is sadly so typical of we Aussies to hit the "tall poppy" syndrome. Good on an Aussie for making a go of the hobby internationally.
The quality of the "higher end" products is definately better. The service has alwaywas been there (in my experience), perhaps you were just unfortunate. I am sure that for your bad experience - there are 20 or more good ones. Its only the bad ones you hear about though isnt it.
Not a sad day for R/C Tech, without sponsors support - where else would we go to bitch, whinge, sledge and share information!
Cheers

While some venom gear I have used (nimh batteries) haven't been that great, others (DX3S transmitter case) have been great value, while you can relay your experiences, I don't think you can say that "everything" is crap unless you yourself have actually bought and tried every product they make. Which I doubt.
I respect your opinion, but as I said, you've worded it in a way that has left you wide open for defaming a company in a public forum.

I am just wondering, who in their right mind would spend $2500 on a plane and NOT go over every bit of it to make sure it is 100% ready to fly BEFORE taking it out for its first test flight.

keyboard warriors fighting some sort of holy war...
Rex,
Out of curiosity...
What really happened... State some actual facts of the events that supposedly took place.
What is the product you are speaking of?
Where was it purchased? Do you have a copy of the receipt?
What was the product actually used in and what other components or flying conditions were involved?
Do you have any r/c flying experience?
At what point was a warranty refused, and by whom?
Surely these are reasonable questions to back up the validity of your case.

I have used a number of Venom products and they have not missed a beat. The 10.5 system works great and is cost effective - use them in both offroad and onroad. The hauler bag is robust and cheaper than other offerings. Can't complain whatsoever...
...and I find this pretty statement pretty hard to believe. Somehow I don't think you are telling the whole story...

Had a fan blade break on a brand new ESC was replaced, had an issue with a ESC aswell and was replaced. Whats the real story man. The guys I have dealt with at Venom are easy to deal with and more than helpful.
