I hope that this event can go ahead in 2009. Following the bad feelings last year, if there are any rule changes required, then we should look at it. It sounded like a race referee would help settle some of the 'discussions' last year.

Im also aware the current date clashes with the Niro-X finals - doesnt affect me, but how about you guys????

Ray
Do people still race Niro, sorry Nitro,?

Smack it!

NSW to run the computer.
That's fine we will run the computer with the event to be held at St Ives.

is there any interest from nsw at all? i know there is in vic, but they are the guys i race with. Is anybody from nsw keen to get a team together or is the lack of organisation / talent going to see this event dropped this year.

i would be very surprised if the nsw boys dont get a team together. i think it would be a good idea if we some how got a neutral referee for this years meeting.

Any follow ups on this Ray?

I move for four Man teams this year, its been a battle to fill classes in the past.

SCT, as a demo, next to/instead of 540?

NSW to help run/entirely run the PC?

Neutral referees Cantona?

No major news Neil - it seems that there is interest but I think NSW needs to appoint a team captain and

I think the event needs:
- clear rules about starting orders, point systems etc
- a rotation system for running the computer system
- a referee

Since there have been lots of accusations of biased marshalling (from both sides) over the years, perhaps we could follow the lead of the 24hr teams race in the UK where you only marshall your own team cars. If necessary, marshalls can stay out for 2 races with an NSW and Vic marshall at each point. I think that is a much fairer way for a team race.

Don't forget the rotation system for the venue either.

which is great if you live in some brokendown town on the NSW side of the border but most of us live in sydney and its a solid drive down. You guys have a couple of hours to drive from melbourne.

yeah canberra one year and wodonga the next would be excellent. hell I would like to see us change it up and just nominate a VIC club one year and a NSW club the other

move it and it will more than likely die like last time it was moved.

plus what club in NSW can provide a track anywhere surface anywhere near the quality of wodonga.
