Thanks Trevor , WHRC contacted Frontline, who are out of stock ATM.
I'll give rchobbies a ring.....I would like to try a Baracuda this time.
The Camaro is quite strong and I do prefer GM(genetically modified) vehicles, but I think a moment of MOPAR madness is in order.

Also, who brings in Bolink and Parma gear ?? They both have shells i'd like to buy.

Cheers
Michael.

Default trans am rules

just a quick question on the rules at this point in time(i know it is only early days yet)are we goint to follow the vta usa rules ? in thier rules it states that at the start of any meeting there must be tread showing across the whole width of the tire, just something that should be discussed i guess
appreciate all input & comments
tj when u said old tires at the act meet did they have tread or so old they were bald ?

The ones I saw were absolutely bald .. which sort of defeats the purpose of using the tyres in the first place

Good point. If they are legal then we should allow the vintage slicks too.

Yes they were as bald as my head. Its better for them to be bald than be a moving obsitcal in the finals. It wasn't the issue of being slicks but more to do with the softness of the tires. As graham knows I borrowed a set from Bod that had been run for 6-9 months at Castle Hill . How long does a normal set of tires last in other classes?

I like the look of cars in the USVTA class, cool seeing something similar in Aus.

If anyone is wanting to run a old Eurpean Ford body, check this out.
Linky
I certainly wouldn't complain about a MK1/MK2 Escort shell, or even a MK1 Cortina.

Great link that ! I have added to my favourites now.
They are all pre 1980, so they qualify. The more variety of bodies ,the better ! (even though they are Ford....the BMW IS a cool car)

As for tyres, I would hate to see people buying new ones, only to sand them down, thinking that will help....
Not using 540s would help cut out the maintenance too. My opinion only, but from first hand experience,B/L is THE only way forward.
It has made my racing MUCH more enjoyable.
ONE motor that I have used for ten weeks,is still going strong.... I would have used at least three 540s in that time, plus lubes and cleaners etc.

I'm using the Novak SS motor for what its worth.

Fleet.

I have to agree at club level we use 540 and 21.5 most of the guys at Canberra had all three options but it was split between 540 and 21.5 and I think they were replacing the 540 every second or third run. For a cheap and fun form of racing 21.5 is the better way to go with set tyres ,set motor and body style I could run the class for the rest of the year and only replace breakages and the occasional wheel nut.

the bodies look really nice, but at 59 euro's that is more than AUD$100.

Yeah that bit is sucky, which is one of the reason why I haven't got a MK2 Escort yet. But if you may have noticed they do come with wheels.
