What a gee up! From someone who is entering, $45 is fine for a set of decent tyres. From what I hear the TOP tyres are pretty hot so big ups to Rod for landing premounts at that price. From what I recall muchmore absolutes were similarly priced at the 07 muchmore masters - lets not talk about that sweep rubbish at the 08s, I'd pay double the $35 or $40 (whatever) we were paying for a set of tyres that I wouldn't have to change my whole fkn set up to make work.

I for one cant wait for this event, the largely unknown track is a big plus because it means no-one has an advantage. Let the games begin

Maybe where you are Brad, not here. Were looking at the scout option but guess what, if they do it, they are going to want the money they make as they have the same issues as RC.

Great to hear that you are coming Craig. With Mitch entering on Friday and once the Zarbs verify that will put Mod into two heats - with four weeks out.
Its a bit sad about 540 but I think there will be a late flourish closer to the time. So what happened to the 12th scales? All the drivers talking early about no 12th scale; now we have it, no entry from those drivers???
Keep those entries coming...

Seems hardly relevant, what good is it talking to them today? The decision on tyres was made months ago from what Rod has told us.

3 Months?? Is that right Pete, sure you're not adding some time on to make it sound better? So even though racers pay on or before the event, it takes the club 3 months to send a cheque? Please!!!

If a supplier consistently keeps stock, can supply demand, has reasonable pricing, then why shouldnt they be rewarded? If another supplier wants in, they have to compete, not just once, but consistently - isnt that what drives true competition? This "let everyone have a go" method doesnt work, as we see now with this situation.

Nobody doubts your intentions Pete. We just had a state title and the cost was $35. He could have ordered tyres by his own admission months ago when the aud was 75c but didnt. You have effectively decided to lift the cap because he was either lazy, sloppy, or waiting to save up the money to buy them. In any event, not a good reason to make us carry the cost. I will remind you that as recently as last week there was some gloating about how many TOP cars were at the NSW State Titles, cashflow shouldnt have been that bad!!!!!

So is it for the clubs to make some coin, or so Rod doesnt lose money now? Im confused?

You might be getting carried away with your own self importance Pete, your "title" doesnt give you the right to "suggest" I or anyone else do anything. You made a shit decision at the expense of the race entrants- simple.

This seems a tricky issue with points for and against each camp.

The last sentence in rule 3.8.7 says:

"A host club may apply to AARCMCC for special pricing above the cap if needed."

So I guess technically this decision doesn't breach the rules.

Given that it has been mentioned by two people that one supplier didn't bid because they couldn't supply tyres (and rims) at that price, maybe it is needed.

On the other hand, what was the price of the Australian dollar when the price was set? Someone said it was $0.70, can someone confirm this? It went up pretty quickly too. Have tyres become fundamentally more expensive in the last couple of years?

I agree that the purpose of control tyres shouldn't be for a club to make money, but they shouldn't lose money either. Dealing with control tyres is a hassle for anyone organising a meeting, if you were to lose money on the venture as well...

then again, I agree with others who have said that supplying tyres is good for marketing. If you have tyres left over you try them next time you race at your home club; if they are good you order more.

Hmm, I don't know which way I'd lean.

As an interesting aside, I didn't realise that the control tyres had to be supplied on a "rim [that] must be suitable for all types
of cars." It's a good thing this isn't offroad, where cars don't have standardised hubs. Perhaps a section needs to be written into the rules that says that a TC has to has to accept hex type wheels with a standard offset, in case someone turns up with something odd one day and demands that they get their control rims.

Forecast was provided in July,
Firm Order was placed in early September, the day of the announcement,

Most of your other points are in a similar theme and can be answered by reading and understanding these business principles.

I know you are already familiar with as we have discussed briefly in the past,
so I am still unsure what your full agenda is.

they must of been rotting in a warehouse for a few years if they were bought at 0.75

dont forget last years nationals were at $45 a set,

upside is that the TOP tyres are a single fresh batch straight from Japan,

So? IT was not offered. It was the ACT's turn. This meeting is a joint effort between the ACTMCRC and CORMCC. Both of these clubs have run State Titles this year, as well as Challenge Cup rounds.

Default 1/12

Hi all.
About the 1/12's and were are they.
Well,
The entry form was not posted until last week..Most people i know that were thinking of going aint because of the short notice..
I have to give at least 6 weeks notice for work..A bit hard when We diint know the dates, venue dates etc...
So as not to waste my time and money..we chose not to go due to the lack of proper organisation..being the nats, the entry form should have been posted ages ago..a bit sloppy in the organisation..
I have competed in many an event..and yes there was entry forms months before the event..
Holding a major event, with the closests hotel at least 1/2 hour away...thats not too good either..As i see it, the event should have gone to a club that has
1. a permanent track.
2. Gave more time to enter.
3. better organisation.
4. better accomadation facilaties.
Before everyone starts bashing me..ITS THE NATS......not a club day....
