In Vic we have Pull Start and Tourer.

Pull Start you run the Motor that comes with the car, exception is the AE NTC3, but that has a list of motors to run.

Tourer, anything goes I think.

Jd

ORRCA have GAS TOURER Rules.

These are PROPOSED and not the final but should be close to the final Rule set.

Default Question

Are they adopting these rules at club level and if so what happens to the people that have bought a kit car.
Are they going to added another class again for the beginners as thats what the pull start was designed for.

bugger was hoping that the rumor i heard would be true and that itd be pro tourer (unlimitied) and pullstart would be the only classes and that pullstart would be rtr only itd make it cheaper but oh well, i dont really wanna drop $500 for a chassis $200 for motor and then $400 for starter and servo's guess ill put this plan on hold

I was under that impession too?? Only RTR cars were allowed as of next year in pullstart

But luckily im running a TG in a MTX4 and so are 80% of the guys that run Gas Tourer at our track.

I agree that having a cheaper RTR class would give more people a chance to get into racing at a good price, cause lets face it, to be competitive in this class you have to spend over 1000 bucks.....

Anyways, pro tourer next year for me i thinks

what we are trying to find out what happens to all the poeple that are not running SLOW PRO TOURERS " TG Powered" and that are running pull start cars / Rota start that can race under AARCMCC rules any where in Australia but not in SEQ.
so where do you all get your begginners from to support the begginners class if they have to start with a SLOW PRO TOURER.

540 is called 540 for the motor
Stock is called stock for the motor
Mod is called Mod because of the motor

so why is pull start called pull start it should be called TG racing

ive been an electric racer from the start but from the bits and pieces i can gather what u say makes sense, its rather annoying that u cant start racing a class ompetitively for under $1000 and i mean any on road class nitro or electric.
look at 540 for damn sake i see mi3 and t2 007 in there right there is $500 then the speedy and batteries they use run $250 plus charger servo and radio gear, its killing the sport cause beginners have no where to begin
just my $.02 drawing a parallel to electric
cheers

Default Pullstart class

Hi,
In WA we used to have the 1hp rule but now we run any .12 3 port pullstart engine (no hybrids) and also any standard RTR car with the standard kit engine. We get a lot of Kyosho FW-05/06's and V-one S2 and 3's aswell as a few NTC3's (current WA champ) I used to run Hobao GPX-4 with the kit Hyper 12 and it was quite competative.

Absolutely no modification whatsoever is allowed to kit-spec engines
Does this include tuned pipes and manifolds??

If that is the VIC rules, pretty certain there are no restrictions on pipes and manifolds.

I think everyone is getting the wrong idea here.

From what I can gather, the GT tourer rules are simply so a Title event can be run for all those running the most popular motor - TG.

It won't effect club racing or any other "sanctioned" event rules.

As the majority run the TG in the PullStart class, commanly known as GT in SEQ, but had no major to compete in, this is where the GT event rules came from.

But maybe, should Gas numbers grow at clubs, a beginner class - loosely based on the current PullStart rules, a kinda run what ya brung type thing, GT class - GT rules and Pro class could be adopted.

But Im sure the GT tourer rules are simply to allow a title event to take place.

Have been known to be wrong though.......

Cheers
Aaron

The pull start class is an AARCMCC class which will be run at state and national titles, Brendale also runs this class on Sundays with the 8th scale and nitro tourers, SEQ Interclub spec cars can run in this class as well until the end of year.
Spec's for this class are on the AARCMCC web site at the bottom of the IC On road rules, but basically RTR cars with either original or any pull start/rota start .12 size engine and open chassis mods.
Brendale will be hosting the IC Nationals the first weekend in October 2008, as well as 8th Scale and Nitro Tourer, the Pull start class will be run as well.

The SEQ Interclub rules are run at the Interclub and most SEQ clubs for there general rules, open chassis's, up to 1hp side exhaust .12 engines plus OS TG rear exhaust, weight 1800g.

The new ORRCA Qld Gas tour rules are basically Interclub rules with a controlled engine, the OS TG, ORRCA Qld will run a Championship event every year with these rules, first one will be held later this year stay tuned for the host club and dates.

What clubs do with there club rules in 09 is up to each club to decide
