That's the problem with Stormer, you don't now the postage cost till it's billed to your CC!

Try A main hobbies, postage is pretty reasonable and you can see the cost in the checkout before you commit and select a range of other postage options.

well they dont have the smc lipos in stock and i suspect its because they wont ship lipos. i think i will have to order off harris, they seem to have pretty decent pricing (comared to others in australia!) and will be getting them in shortly. i emailed stormer... ill see if i can get a shipping quote.

Yep that would be a good idea.

I haven't dealt with them myself but a few guys at our club deal with them and say it's a bit of a "lottery" what the freight will be!

You are defo after SMC? Interested in the Reedy packs? LPH have them cheap (out of stock at the moment though) and his freight charge is the best there is.

whats this store you mention?
the reason i want smc (def not decided!!!) is because i want the huge discharge ratings that they offer... i also would like to get them into my TC, which any lipo will (i can get pretty much any height with longer screws, the length of a 7 cell nimh)

the only other option is going to soft cased, which im not prepared to do (for obvious reasons)

any other suggestions (trakpower seems good, but if i want to stack the packs, then u cant get to the plugs... but would allow neater wiring!

http://www.losipartshouse.com/servlet/StoreFront

This is the store, Losi and Associated Parts House. Owners name is Steve Armador, very helpful and courteous.

While you're there check out the whole site, tyres are very well priced as well.

The Reedy packs are 20C at 5000mah, isn't that enough? That should outdo current nimh cells? Otherwise pop down to Kmart and get a car battery!

You should also consider Core 5000mah/25c packs. One of the best. Available in Australia.

There is a bit of hype surrounding these packs... apparently they are very good... and weight of opinion seems to be these are the same as the Orion 3200 with a different label

If ORRCA would make them legal they would be the perfect Lipo

I Just bought 2 of these packs off ebay, and they seem to be quite good. I have not run them yet, but I have give them a cycle on my CDC-7 and the average discharge voltage looks good, and the capacity was over 3300mAh on both packs..

They are 1/2 the weight of a 4200NiMh, and will easily fit in the Tamiya chassis that only take a stick pack, like the TL01, Mini's, and XC/CC (Toureg).. The "Bumps" on the bottom of the pack also fit nicely in the battery slots on my TC5..

They come standard with a Tamiya connector, but they also have a "Cheapie Deans" style connector in the box..

Cheers

Thanks for the input guys,I think Ill order a couple and see how they go,definetly a good choice for the older cars with space limitations and at the same price as a good stick pack.

I would be fairly close in saying that unless they are hard cased and approved
by ROAR, IFMAR

ORRCA will not look at them.

HARD CASE IS THE WAY TO GO!!
