Default Do Hobby Stores....

Do Hobby stores charge repair fees? Because I pulled out my pull start cord out and don't know how to put it back in

I think hobby shops make 50% of the cash from ppl who can't fix their noisy cars. If you drop in a buy something from your local, they may fix it cheap on the spot... You could visit you local rc club and ask someone to show you how to do it for nothing too.

$60 an hour seems to be a industry standard.
Replacing a pullstart or 1 way bearing takes a few minutes, rethreading a old one takes a lot longer.

Also depends on the store, if it's a store that prides itself on service they may do the right thing and help a newbie, if it's a commercial money making operation and little more (aka like in WA) expect to pay big $$ for a repair, Perth Hobby Centre won't even repair an RC unless you bought it from them, so that's the other end of the scale, remember it's all corporate greed, just like some mechanics, same deal, hello sucker, how can I rob you?

grow up nexxus everyone is sick of your negative attitude towards everything, hobby shops are in business to make money not to do favours anyone who says other wise as as bigger idiot as you!

Know to answer the question trying to recoil pull starts takes a very long time so if you pay one to do it it will cost you a bit of money. The cheaper option is to buy the pull start and go home and pull the engine out and fit it yourself should cost between $25-50 depending on brand

Talking new is good

most shops do offer repairs and most are pretty helpful.definitely a lot cheaper to buy a new pull start but.

if you do buy a new one and its in and working well, get the old one and have a go at fixing it yourself.best way to learn your way around the hobby of RC.

Just providing an honest comment as to what he may encounter with some hobby stores, IMO Hobby stores that lack customer service (ie PHC) DESERVE TO ME NAMED AND SHAMED!

Bottom line is some stores will go out of their way to help, others will try and scam you 5 ways from Sunday, so shop around, and go with the guy who offers to help, not the store that has a 16 yr old no-nothing say "oh we'll have to book it in.... $33 thanks...."

as for bk2racer, well he's had an axe to grind against me for god knows how long, who knows, some people hold grudges over petty toy cars for the strangest reasons, whatever helps him sleep at night I guess, personally I have better things to worry about than a disgruntled ex rc-store employee.
