First of all, the "E4" sticker is upside down...

And the purple sticker on the motor clashes with the purple/blue heatsink on the speed controller..

Have you forgotten everything I taught you ?

p.s.

The middle black wire isn't long enough!

check your PM!

with all this talk about balancing batteries in the car, its just reminded me, y didn't they look at the old hpi 3 , it was a 2 belt drive with the battery down the center. i wonder if any manufacture has every thought about re-designing that car??? just a thought. . .

Umm, Losi did, the JRXS and now the JRXS TYPE R, two belts, centre mounted batteries + its lipo ready. not that it was/is a redesign of the Pro 3 but same general idea.

no offense, but the losi is s*&t, ive seen so many people have handling problems with them, weither as the hpi pro 3 the car was well designed, if any manufacturer thought about redesigning this car, i most would def buy it.

Batteries with leads..

Hey OLD 69,

your car looks very tidy

Since I'm on the hunt for a new car for 2008, I'm exploring the E4 as a possibility and I have a question that I was hoping you could help answer...

If direct soldering of the power wires to the battery is to become a thing of the past (rule changes I've hear coming), how can you fit the batteries with a deans plug lead when there appears to be a bar across the middle that would interfere? (batteries inserted from below but connected from above)

...or is there enough gap for a lead to pass along with the battery past this middle bar?

At worst I guess I could solder and de-solder the leads each time to the battery and leave the deans plug connected to the ESC so that it can be used in case of emergency to unplug the batteries by the marshals as it bursts into flames or smolders:D.

Your thoughts observations?

Does the car use metric or imperial tooling??? I'd assume metric, but you know what they say about assumptions. just hoping that I dont have to fork out for any new tools.

Hey Dave, i personally direct solder. I have not checked but i am 95% sure you will be able to fit the wire in between the centre chassis brace, no need for re-sodering etc.

I did and although granted that particular Losi did a number on every other car I believed that it was pre production not new and had been set up and loaned. Still no 1 else has managed to get another 1 that good.
E4 looks better

Whats this???,, Why is direct soldering becoming a no-no and where?

EFRA have started this to avoid problems with shorting packs and electrical gear. Easier to disconnect on the track. Makes sense

xxblackheartxx2 11-18-2007 01:47 AM

Mine is 1540g with Std screws, PT, Brushless / 6 cell. Ill most likely remove the sway bars, reducing the weight a tad.
