Check the rules from ORRCA to check what brands are allowed to race.

As drewdc90 said, check the orrca qld rules. Last time I looked, there is not an "approved" list, just some physical specifications - so if the motor meets those specs, then theoretically....

Certainly sensored and non sensored are legal, but the physical size is what matters. The mamba motors are usually too big.

For simplicity sake, it might be worth ORRCA Qld considering reviewing the brushless motor rules to mirror IFMAR - or to refer to the IFMAR approved list...

They meet the specs as per the dimensions set by ORRCA

Just read the rule re: Motors

if Im not mis-reading it, we are allowed to use sensor-less brushless motors in Modified, like the Mamba Max etc, thats great, will open the door for a few more mod competitors I should think.

Cheers

We were always allowed to run sensorless brushless systems and the only reason the mamba wasn't allowed to run was because of the size of the internals. Atleast thats the rules run with AARCMCC. By the rules for ORRCA you can run almost anything, though I still don't expect to see many mamba's if they are legal.

Default 540 Masters

Hello all,

The SCRCCC has decided with permission from ORRCA to hold a 540Masters in conjunction with the ORRCA Qld Titles. THE 540 MASTERS IS NOT A QLD TITLE EVENT. The 540 Masters will be run alongside the Qld Titles utilizing the same ORRCA rules. However the 540 Masters will only be open to people 17 years and older.

Nominations and all payments for the 540Masters are to be made directly to SCRCCC. A Nomination form will be posted on our website and a link put on this thread when it is available(hopefully in the next couple of days). This event is run on the proviso that if there is any time constraints for any reason during the Qld Titles the 540 Masters will be adjusted (heats or finals dropped or possibly cancelled altogether if time or weather conditions prevail) as the Orrca Title events is the main reason for this Event being held.

Brushless "stock" motors aren't legal for this or any other state/national event in Aus. They have been allowed at club level (some clubs) and interclub events in SEQ as a trial. I think we are a way off having brushless motors in stock classes at sanctioned/championship races.

Event rules are at www.orrcaqld.org.au

The control tyre is Sorex 36R, Im assuming its open choice for the inserts and how many sets of tyres are allowed or is that open as well? Also will there be a practice day on the Thursday?.

Cheers

Up to 3 set are allowed, rims and inserts are open, within the rules.

Would someone mind telling me.

Is the 5 cell concept the way to go.

What rollouts would have been used at the sunnycoast with LRP 4.0 brushless.

Would the 3.5 Lrp be a lot better using 5 cells

Thanks

Everyone thats run it has said good things about it. One my first run with it I set my second quickest time so I'm gunna run it. The 3.5 would probably be a bit better as it would be more efficient and thats a big thing for 5 cell (hard to make run time with older packs). I don't know what FDR the LRPs run (I run a 9 FDR with my novak 3.5 if that helps).
Drew.

The Track at Sunshine Coast is open all the times, we are in a sports ground, so please respect other users.

It is necessary to park at the end of the track and walk down to the entrance gate. There is no power available unless a race meet is on. Also make sure if you come to practice that you bring a broom and or blower to clean the track a bit, we have a gum tree that at the moment is dropping yellow flowers all over the track.

The only limitations of practice times are for Gas cars because of noise is between 7.30am and 7pm.

We are holding a race meet every Sunday until the Queenslands and you are all very welcome to come and join in.
