Default finding a track

Hi everybody,
I'm currently back in Australia for a few weeks and I'm missing my RC cars back in Canada so I'd like to find an RC track locally. I'm staying in the Mosman area and will also be spending some time down in Canberra (actually Queanbeyan) next week.

Thanks for any help.

If you get a chance, drop into a newsagent and grab a copy of "Racing Lines".

There is a comprehensive track listing towards the rear.

Ah yeah, I have a Pro 4 and TA05 back in Canada but have nothing here except my brother's TB02 which I'm not sure if I could race or not. I've only raced carpet so I'll definitely check out the Canberra track. Is it a permanent or temporary track? I don't think the narabeen race will be on while I'm here as I'll be leaving on the 5th of November.

Oh, I'll also be heading out to Penrith but as far as I can see the guys out there run Nitro only.

you can also come out to whalan reserve on sunday 22nd as they race nitro, 12th, mod, stock and mini.
everyone usually gets there around 8 am to set up and get some practice in before the 930 start.
if you have the day free, its well worth a go

The Canberra indoor track is a temporary track, the surface is industrial carpet squares and offers a heap of grip with foam tyres.

The calendar you guys have is really impressive. I'll be in Canberra for the 31st so I'll definitely try to check it out then. Got an address or is it on the site?

Ah it's at EPIC?

The track is at Exhibition Park in Canberra (EPIC) which is located on the federal highway north of the city near Mitchell.

Here is a link to Google Maps, it is centered on Exhibition park. it should help you find it from wherever you are staying.

hope this helps

Yeah, I know where exibition park is. I went to summernats about 10 years ago. I'm pretty sure I even know which building it's in. I'll do my best to be there but doubt I'll bring a car. What time does it start?

Heya GreaseMonkey,
I live at Neutral Bay and i find that SMA is the closest track to get to (especially time wise). http://www.smaracing.org

I also race out at at Brush Farm Just past Eastwood on the 1st 3rd 5th Friday of each month. http://www.sydneyrc.com

The gearing of the TB-02 seems to be well suited to Stock racing. I used to run one for a few months in 540, when i first started racing, and found that the gearing is some what lacking if you are looking for a high rollout. I have also managed to locate the F201 Spur Gear and 27T AV Pinion (a discontinued item) but have never tried them in the TB-02.

If you need any help with directions drop me a PM

Just got home from running out at windsor. A big thanks to Steve for letting me run his FK05, I really appreciate it and also thanks to everyone else that helped me out with batteries and such.

This was my first time running on something other than carpet and I wasn't expecting the track to have so little grip and it really threw me for six. I know everybody was saying that it was really lacking grip but I just couldn't get the hang of it. I think I got 1 or 2 laps under 17 seconds and a lot of laps over 20 seconds.

Thanks once again to everyone that helped me out and if anyone is in the Winsor area I highly recommend they check it out, firendly staff and a really nice track.
