A large part of Mini racing is corner speed. A higher corner speed means that you're also going faster at the end of the straight too.
So, that's where you need to look. Shocks, suspension settings and practice, practice, practice...
Going fast isn't just how well you go in a straight line, it's about how you get to that straight line in the first place.

I think you'll find that everyone runs 20 tooth.

mini's
Mini's rock mate. They are the most fun you will have racing because they are comical and they are just the bash and crash class of racing. And if you get anyone being really serious about it on the track they are in the wrong class.

Mini Racing - Havago!
Having participated in two race nights with my new mini - I'm hooked.
Some of the Lessons I have learnt already:
Don't turn too too tight - you can roll.
Don't turn too tight, the inside wheel lifts and the diff unloads thus slowing you down
Don't turn enough and you won't make the corner.
Don't use a One-Way diff - HELP NO BRAKES !! (only joking)
Don't take it too seriously - you'll only get disappointed
