Sledging Thread

Hi Guys & Gurls,
Thought I would start a new thread for all of those who want to have a sledge at each other.
This way we can take the sledging off the other threads and let them continue with the subject that is priorority.

Fastolfart, with a signature like that (wich?) I wouldn't be starting a sledging topic

Fastolfart, with a signature like that (wich?) I wouldn't be starting a sledging topic
Should bring a height restriction in here (maybe)

TrustMe 01-14-2003 11:42 PM

Is this an AARCMCC sanctioned thread??

I don't think it is fair that there is only one class on the sledging thread.

What happens if we sledge more or sledge less, shouldn't there be more classes.

I think sledgers shouldn't be allowed to run there mouths. And I think the verbal content in there speach is to high. They obviously have modified brains which have a limited run time.

more important than classes is sledging rankings... how are they going to be sorted... im sure competition will be wild for the top spot

i give this thread about a 10 days!

black-knight 01-15-2003 12:56 AM

i've noticed that all the good sledgers are not very good at actual rc racing! :sneaky:

sledging

I cant understand why you dont just dump sledging, its a thing of the past and everyone knows that expletive abuse is the class of verbal tyrade that is growing at a phenomenal rate and all the dictionaries are now being manufactured to cater for this.
And I certainly dont see the point of sledging if theres only 10 other sledgers to sledge against and the insults being used are out of date to start with.

manwithbellybut 01-15-2003 04:08 AM

I remember when sledging was huge. Everybody was there. The national sledging titles were amazing. I can remember some great sledges.

Sledging in 2003 is nothing like the good old days. The trouble with sledging now is that its so expensive and you have to have so much equipment. You go to the sledging nationals now and there's only 10 people, they have the most incredible amount of gear - and darrin campbell still wins.

the only light at the end of the tunnel is that brooksie is back.

by the way, sledging should be a rubber tyre class. foam sucks.

nitro dave 01-15-2003 04:26 AM

What body will sanction this event? Will the rules stay fixed or change frequenlty.......without notice? I think we should have 2 classes - Novice sledges and Pro sledges :p

from what i heard, some will be brushless "extended runtime" :D

speedbump 01-15-2003 06:10 AM

Just a few questions!

Will this event need marshals to return any faulty sledges or ones that hit the wall or get stuck in the grass?

Does each competitor need a pit crew to offer moral support, advice and also assist the "pull-start" guys?

For the benefit of all the other competitors should the "pull-start" guys be banned?

Will sledges directed at marshalls, pit crew and other "sledgers" achieve the same result?

black-knight 01-15-2003 05:09 PM

all participating sledgers should also need to provide 3 forms of alternative identities

Besercoe 01-15-2003 05:27 PM

I thought the moorebank thread was the place for sledging:confused:

Im getting confused now, my small brain cant handle two trains of thought.

nitro dave 01-15-2003 05:29 PM

your comms might need truing :D :p

fastolfart 01-15-2003 05:49 PM

Is this an AARCMCC sanctioned thread??
We are waiting on AARCMCC to send out the sanctioning forms

What happens if we sledge more or sledge less, shouldn't there be more classes.
And this is from the secretary of AARCMCC. How many classes would you like ?? lets keep it simple and have only one class and you can sledge all or as little as you like, you'll still be a winner.

more important than classes is sledging rankings... how are they going to be sorted... im sure competition will be wild for the top spot
One class, International only. We are a combine comunity.

I cant understand why you dont just dump sledging, its a thing of the past and everyone knows that expletive abuse is the class of verbal tyrade that is growing at a phenomenal rate and all the dictionaries are now being manufactured to cater for this.
Way too confusing for a simple mind like mine ???

Darrin only wins when he wants too !

by the way, sledging should be a rubber tyre class. foam sucks.
Not worth the waste of band width to comment on.

? Will the rules stay fixed or change frequenlty.......without notice?
Of course the rules will change, to suit the sledgee.

from what i heard, some will be brainless "extended runtime"
NOTE the edit in this quote

Will this event need marshals to return any faulty sledges or ones that hit the wall
The sledgers will have to marshall themselves, that way there will be no marshalls, (just like racing)
P.S. good sledgers don't need marshalls

For the benefit of all the other competitors should the "pull-start" guys be banned?
Agreed, if you got to pull it to start, you are not worthy to leave the bed room.

Will sledges directed at marshalls, pit crew and other "sledgers" achieve the same result?
Only in the sledgee's mind.

black-knight 01-15-2003 06:03 PM

so when is the real sledging going to start?

Coxy 01-15-2003 07:01 PM

Ok I will start one off.

What’s the go with Coxy. Who in there right might would paint a car in Hot pink. That, as well as he should wear pink himself, can’t even get a gas car because it’s too dirty and he will break a nail. If you want to prove yourself as a good driver get a 1/8th on road car. Also what’s the go with that 3PK. It’s just a oversized temperature gun. As if he knows what all those buttons do. We all know that the big display is only something to get a reflection to look at yourself or to watch Porn video’s on. I have seen you crash only because you can’t see over the drivers stand railing. If there is a height restriction then it should be based on Coxy.

Coxy.

Besercoe 01-15-2003 07:26 PM

What about Mr Fast Food Bersercoe. Fast food he is but Fast driver he isn't. He is still trying to find out what he is good at (If anything). He just brought a 1/8th off road car and a 1/10th Noisy tourer to see if he is good at them. What's next a 1/8th on road car, god forbid they might even get a full grid then. I was actually watching his car the other day and I thought he was on fire with his driving until he picked up the red and yellow x-ray, I thought he was the red and white x-ray.

snoopy 01-16-2003 05:29 AM

Is there going to be a dB limit???

How about a ground clearance....How low can you go???

How about a "Your Mumma....." class??

Bring it on!!!

teamhd 01-16-2003 08:51 PM

All right I'm going to do a serious sledge here and it's not going to be about there driving style......

Oh and I wasn't going to place this in another thread as here seems a good place to vent your splean (if that's how you sell it. BK edit if needed)

In a Hobby Shop thread Oasis complained that the Australian Importers/Distributors are to blame for the RC business going over seas. In most importer cases yes this is true but how can Oasis say this when he works for Metropolitan, the Importer and Distributor of Schumacher in Aus. Is he saying that MH are the only good importer in Aus.

I'll leave it open for comment. Hey I know you've all got something to say about this.

King-G 01-16-2003 10:04 PM

please get some facts H.D..

schumacher is sold by some chosen retail outlets 1 in each state, they purchase directly from schumacher, and pass on those savings to teh racers.

what other pro level kit sells for under 500 bucks?..this is why missions out sell other kits 5 - 1 at metro, because they pass on the savings to the racers,.

YOU WILL NOT GET SCHUMACHER PRODUCTS CHEAPER FROM OVERSEAS!

another example, mission oneway Diff, ($95 retail)

Losi oneway diff for xxxs, $185, with small retailer margin.

associated etc oneways, $150 ish...

I know the cost prices for most of the products, and guess which ones are the most expensive with the smallest margin of profit...the ones from the Major Oz distributors, so in essence I agree with Oasis.

all of the schumacher spares and hopups at metro are on average HALF the cost of the competition pro level equipment.

Metro is a Hobby shop, who stock a range of equipment, one of which is direct from a manufacturer,,,,they are not a distributor!!!..they do not sell on to other hobby shops!

thankyou for your time

squizzytaylor 01-16-2003 10:29 PM

Damn it!

This is crap!!!! Just when ya find a good thread for a laugh some-one goes and gets all serious on ya!

I demand we open a new class for Clubman sledgers! All the serious people can sledge open class.

Who else saw Coxy's attempt at driving gas??? Didn't even get 5 metres and the thing stopped!!

Just may have had something to do with Besercoe getting the run time equation right

Yea Coxy can even dump a gas car. His rollout might be off so he just trues his tires down.

Well looks like I stepped on the local Schumacher crew's toe's. And since I mistakenly added a real sledge I will apologise to the rest of you. But next time I'll make certain my legal sledge will allow for shorter more legal remarks. Hey I'll even allow the profanities if this will up the standard and the scores. We don't want a good sledge to go to waste do we.

Anyway. I must add that I like the pluck for schumacher price's.

As for getting some facts....Well I'll look more closely next time but one thing that had myself confused is the adverts in racing lines. Schumacher did all there adverts then all of a sudden MH are there. This is not to say that MH shouldn't do this but it is uncommon for a LHS to directly advertise (One page) a single product. It is normally left up to the Distributor / importer to fork out the cash. The Importer (if it is not MH) will be happy. Saves them having to pay for the exposure. Anyone want to pay for my advertising......No..... didn't think so.

King-G. My mistake. No malise. But we importers are not the only one's to blame for the escalating prices or the lack of wanted products not being in the stores for people to buy. In the end it is the shops that deal with the customers. If they don't want to stock product that is wanted then it's there wrong not ours.

Finally, and I know this is way to long, I'm working on my essay skills, Hidden Development work no were near to 50% profit. I wish I could...Make my life much more plesent.

They will need to buy a van just to bring all of their hair and makeup supplies for the day. I think their might be a showdown at the summernats between Alex and coxy for the pretty boy award:lol:

good thing im not going, otherwise it would have been a walkover for the 'gut' concourse at the summer nats:lol: although i understand that some A fianalists are coming up form vic to give the natives a run - bersercoe you better get onto your sponsors to see if they can 'beef' up the local entry!

They would be going pretty well, and have had to train long and hard at the alter of Ronald and the Colonels gym to come any where near this NSW Champion.

I believe the closest the mexicans have is Solaplexus, and i believe he has diminished in size, now that he is an old man:flaming:

fastolfart 01-27-2003 03:57 PM

Quote of the Summer Nats that made me laugh
From a couple of Mexicans

Just can't get these cars to handle on foam tyres

This made me laugh, as one of the well known Mexicans stated in another thread that all you do is throw on a set of 40 foams and your car will be dialed.
Just goes to prove that when you live in a rubber room, you tend to forget what the real world is like.

PS. tyre wear for a well tuned stock car less than 1mm per run on what was concidered an abrassive track for foam tyres. (2nd Qual spot)

Besercoe 01-27-2003 04:01 PM

I have been having some bad tyre wear from Ufra, although i tried Ellegi on my electric this weekend and had almost no wear on the fronts with about 3mm wear on the rears over 5 runs.

We had the opportunity to smell the orange aroma a couple of times over the weekend.

Thank god for fan technology:lol:

King-G 01-27-2003 06:00 PM

Fastol, mind you a mexican won the mod A final!!!..and also 3rd.

what results have you to speak of?..

the real world races on rubber, if you want to live in the past fine, but only the gas races run on foams in the real world...

wake up!..(or please yourself and continue to drag your knuckles....

good luck racing anywhere else in the world...

3mm of tyre wear over 5 runs!...shit, a rubber tire is only .5mm and they last 20+ runs.

King-G 01-27-2003 06:02 PM

ever wondered why N.S.W electric racers run foams?..

does it have to do with the major distributors being located in N.S.W

just a question to ponder over.
