Any T2 owners know the difference between the T2 kit and the refined T2 kit?

My brother got one last week from this ebay seller:
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI....tem=6044082831

See the description? I did hear of rear hubs breaking, but still, I am not sure this is the case here.

Are you sure you are talking about the right kit. At one stage Tamiya was referring to the MSX as the Refine 2

Xray are known to "refine" the kit mid production,

the front tower of the first batch of FK04's had three holes, but later kits had 4 holes,

perhaps that is what he was talking about

Never heard of it. I know that Tower Hobbies has none of AE kits at the moment. Are you maybe talking about the new RTR T4?

Cheers

Nope. It is the T2. He had it running on friday night. I have had a look at the web site and the only mods I can see are the options to go metal hubs. He doesn't have mtal hubs.

Thats right. He did not have the multi diff with the car. He had to buy that as another item and install it after he built the car.
Do you think that the refined kit is the one without the multi diff?

on the ebay site you posted it says

This kit is the newly released revised kit with the beefed up rear shock tower and revised rear hubs

so I guess they have a new rear shock tower and differing rear hubs

No.

I tried to buy the T2 from here, but everyone was sold out, so I bought the American version. This came with the two ball diffs but also came with a set of Jaco foam tires. I had to purchase the Multi-diff seperately. My kit does come with any hubs to what your mentioning.

I *think* what you may be referring to is the issue Xray had with the rear toe not lineing up due to the bulkheads. Xray released a statement and said the issue was now fixed in Feburary which is maybe what he is referring to with the 'refined' kit.

Shit, Im starting to sound like an electric expert now lol

Cool. Makes a bit more sence.

I had a look at the hubs and shock towers and they dont look any different to the first kits to arrive in Australia.

I know the feeling when you try to get one at the moment. Noone has any kits and I guess there are a lot of ppl at the moment waiting for them to arrive.

Yeah, I did my best to buy it from Australia, contacted CMC and Windsor and a shop in Melbourne, no one had them in stock and could not give me an ETA. Had to end up ordering if from OS at a dearer price
