Invitational style racing returns to Keilor January 2016!
The 2016 Keilor GForce Invitational event consists of 2 x Invite classes (Mod and 17,5)where the top drivers from around the country are invited to compete head to head over 5 rounds of 2wd and 5 rounds of 4wd with both classes counting towards the overall result. Invitations have been sent out following the results of the Nationals, State titles and 2015 Invitational (RSVP 11 December Invite Drivers).
The event also has 'open' classes for 2wd and 4wd(Mod and 17,5) where the winner of each class gets an automatic entry into the Invitational class the following year. With the top drivers running in the invite class, this allows those 'knocking on the door' to shine and compete for a coveted invitation for 2017!
The format for the open classes will be slightly different for 2016, with 2wd on Saturday and 4wd on Sunday. The race format will be 3Q x 5 minutes and 1 Final x 10 minutes, mirroring the Reedy race held in the USA. A junior class will also be offered for 2016.

To make the event fair, the track will be changed immediately before the event with limited practice time. The surface will suit a bar style tyre.

IMPORTANT INFO FOR OPEN (NON-INVITE) CLASSES:
Format.
2wd Stock and Modified - Saturday 9th January with racing starting at 1pm.
4wd stock and Modified – Sunday 10th January with racing starting at 8.30am.
A 2wd Junior class will be run on Sunday 10th January as per AARCMCC rules.
3 rounds of qualifying and 1 x 10 minute final per day.
Qualifying will be best 2 of 3 rounds.
Winner of each open class will receive an invite to the Invitational section the following year for the same motor class. If two different people win the stock or modified open classes they will both receive entries for next year.
Trophies:
Will be awarded for top 3 places.
Practice:
Friday 8th January from Midday onwards, Saturday 9thth January 8am – 12pm
Entry fee: $20 per class.

• Payment by direct deposit, credit card or cash to club

Multiple entries
The committee has approved the entering of multiple classes on a single day. For example you can run 2wd Stock and 2wd Modified on Saturday.
It is your responsibility to marshall the follwoing race or provide a substitute.

As posted on facebook: The track is open for traffic to help bring the track surface up to scratch for the invitational next week. if you go to the track, and there is no committee member present, please sweep and water the track on the hour. sorry for any confusion regarding this.

Track final bedding in Sunday 3rd Jan

Final track open day for maximum traffic on the new surface before the Invitational.
Format: 9am to 5pm
Free entry
5 minute rotations of 10 people on the stand
Marshall after each 5 minutes (we will be checking the proposed marshalling locations and adjusting as necessary).
No live timing (will not be connected until the Invitational practice itself)
Watering / blowing / sweeping through the day
As of Sunday 3rd PM, carpet will be placed in certain areas to protect heavy wear/ high UV areas before the Invitational. The track will be watered through the week to ensure the best possible race surface for the Invitational itself.
Note: Saturday 2nd AM the track will be closed to allow for some minor works to be completed on the track.
