********CHALLENGE CUP 2010*********

Having raced 21.5 last season in Perth (carpet indoors, technical small track) I can say for us the bodyshell didn't make a difference and I tried quite afew vor variety. One thing I noticed was that soem of the Tamiya shells work better than others though. For instance the Mercedes Vodafone bodyshell I used most of the time worked really well (to my surprise). I would definitely try the new Axio Corolla and the Subaru Cusco if I were to do it again. They seem aerodynamic enough for the class and look really nice.

21.5 or ??????
Happy New Year!!!!!!
Looking at more of what USA are doing in this class and seeing that we have changed the 21.5 class now to incorporate sports car bodies, should there be a name change?
The rules that we are running are not the same as USA but there are some similarities. We could change it to RCGT, OZGT, RCGT Australia or even just "GT".
Open for your suggestions .

what about "TJSGT" LOL! anyway definitely a name change will be good along those lines. Drift lights would be cool as well for the added effect. I can picture 8-10 cars racing with lights and will just look awesome. I'll put one on my car if I was to run this class. Would the weight still be 1425g for this class?
#36
I don't think so Dan. Yes the weight limit is 1425g.

+ 1 for OZ GT..... I saw a couple of guys trying their GT bodies and setups @ Windsor last night.
With a bit of luck, there should be two to three heats for the class @ Club Challenge.

No Clayton the jury is still out on the name change. I hoping it wil be popular. All signs say it will but you never know the 21.5 class at Castle Hill is growing and we are starting to get a good following.

I'm looking at running a Le Mans style body ,if this is the class I run at CC.
It is an ex-TCS shell ,I acquired with a second hand car. It is 190mm from wheel arch to wheel arch , front and rear.
It has been cut out per the guidelines. It comes up a lot at the back, which is my concern.
Will I have an issue come tech time ?

I think the way TJ and Bob explained it the "wedge style" bodies excluded
They can confirm

No we don't want to go down the le mans wedge shape bodies. The idea is to use close to production car. Have a look at what USA are using for there RCGT class that should give you a good idea of what we are talking about.
If you are still unsure send me a picture of it.

Ok,thanks. Thought it would make more sense to ask now ,than to turn up with the wrong lid on raceday.
I already had an F360 in mind anyway, but saw two possible bodies ready to use.
They are Coxy's old TCS F103 gt items.
Like last year,my shells will be hard to miss, lol. Spectators may require sunglasses......
