would you recomend this to a beginer looking to get in on the sport?

Hi mate, car had been sold. But to answer your question...
Typically, this or similar front motor mounted chassis and all the adjustabilities it offers ie. (Camber -ve 5degrees +, caster, toes... ) are more suitable to most intermediate to pro drifters.
Most beginners would go for a Tamiya TT01D/ HPI E10. These are plug and go. It also gives you a chance to decide if u like the sport.
If budget permits, a TA05 is a better beginner choice over tt01 and e10.
Hope this helps.
