Talking FREE Rollout calculator for a JAVA mobile phone

Hello All,

I got sick of using a mobile phone calculator function to calculate the Rollout of my car when I am racing. So I programmed this software, to use with my mobile phone. Now is it so much easy to get the right gearing, and wanted to share this with everyone.

So enjoy !!! Download the ZIP file below( hopefully the file upload ok) and transfer it to your phone via USB or Memory card and then install it to your mobile phone. Thats all.

Any feedback, send me a PM

Disclaimer: I have only use this for my latest NOKIA mobile phone. You must have a JAVA compatible mobile phone to use this software. No guarantee what ever happens to your mobile phone. Use it at your own risk. But it work fine for me.

Does this only calculate the rollout, Or does it also do the FDR ? Also will it work on my nokia N73 ?

Can you post the source code? I'd like to port it to my A1000. I'll post any enhancements back.

John...it calculate the rollout.( what is the FDR? ( Final Drive Rollout? Isn't this the same?) Yes is should work with your phone, as my phone is the older than your.

Vortex, if your phone support JAVA then is should also run. Try it first.

Enjoy...

FDR and Rollout are 2 Different Things.

Your FDR Just Includes Your Internal Gear Ratio, and Pinion To Spur Ratio.
Im Not Sure How You Calculate Rollout, but Rollout Is measured In mm.

You forgot to factor in the tyre diameter. Hence it will calculate the rollout(FDR).

Well, I have always used Rollout Calculation for all my racing. It used your car internal ratio, tyre Diameter, Spur gear you put in, and the pinion you are using. If your rollout is too high then the car will bogg down coming out of corner. IF too low then then car will not have enough top end speed.

It is important to have the right gearing( rollout ) to win the race because different track have different configuration(ie. S-turn, straight, bend). When I am racing I alway have to re-calculate the rollout going from Eastern creek to Moorebank track or ACT or anywhere etc.

Try it with LOW rollout and you will get good acceleration.
Try it with HIGH rollout and your car will fly down the straight but slow out of corner.

Cheers,
