Hi , I'm keen on a few sets however I've never raced 5th scale & have everything bar sets of tyres. Track is Brendale , i do have 8th & 10th scale ic cars i race but bought an older model RS5 a while back & slowly gathered up spares etc for it. I'm at the stage of getting tyres but don't know the id of the grips if you know what i mean.? Like 8th scale we generally use 35 shore all the time & 10th 37 -42 depending on f or rear, 5th scale i haven't gotten as far as inquiring the guys as to the best tyres yet , i picked the Q5 as it seemed they'd been the most sold ? Can you advise seeing you're a seasoned 5th scale driver plz matey. Cheers

Hi Smokey,

I race 5th scale at Brendale so can help you out... the following are the most common tyre compounds that we use:
PMT: X3 or X1 (X1 being the 'softest')
GRP: P3 or M1 (M1 being the 'softest')

Just about any tyres will work on the grippy Brendale surface... just depends on your car set up.

Smokey X01 tires are way to soft buddy and you might want to try X05 and X03 or even harder compounds mate.
Like Matt tells you it will come down to the settings on your car.
Check out Calendar ? QRCCRA
Look up to see when 5th scale are racing and go down to the circuit and talk to the guys because I'm sure that they will help you out mate.
Just for reference I'm also new to 5th scale and I'm waiting on a new Bergonzoni GT-s1 to arrive so that I can finally get to run my FIRST 5th scale.

There is a new online RC car store coming called RC Racers Depot and once it's launched I'll be telling everyone so keep a look out mate.
