Default 3D duel conversion problems with XXL

Hi. Iv been very happy with my trusty FM Lynx 3D with spectra on 75 MHz. Going on 7 years now. But I just bought a novak XXL and it would not work with it. Later I was told that the XXL works on single conversion instead of the duel of the 3D.

Is this true? If I get new single conversion Xtals will the XXL work? The Xstals with the red stripe?

And.. Another option.. I found a old RCD shredder AM rx. Could I just return the larger XXL, and get a AM module for the 3D and use the shredder rx for my close range micro cars?

Thanks

Dual conversion is ONLY in the Rx, it has nothing to do with the Tx.

The XXL is single conversion, you can only use single conversion X'tals.

As far as I know, there isn't an AM module for the 3d or CRX radios.

Default Thanks

No AM module.. I was afraid of that.

Can you tell me why the shredder is no longer in production. Its smaller than any car rx's that I know of. Was it glitchy? I ask because I will buy a AM programable TX if its a reliable rx for small track racing. Its perfect size.

OK.. Maybe you can answer this..

I got the hitec shredder working with a old futaba 75mhz AM radio. Except the second throttle channel does not work with my mamba controller. Yet it works with a brushed controller but glitchy. Why is this? Can I correct it? Or could I send it back to hitec to have it repaired and tuned? I really like this little shredder.

What x'tal are you using in the Shredder?
