Hey, Tres: One more question about the switch. I can't remember if I have removed the "on/off" plate since I've had this switch. So, just to be certain, which side of the switch does the two wires(a)(b) come out of. The "off" side or the "on" side?

Thanks

Default Novak Switch

I pretty much knew it would happen, but it still makes me shake my head. RCCA list the Novak Switch as a "technological breakthrough"

I can't wait until they do a full write up on it. I'm sure they'll speak of it as something that has never been done before.

I mean, wow, a sythesized module for a transmitter.....no body has ever done that before!

Not saying it's not a good product.

Tres: yeah, I'm not saying its not a good product, in fact I can't believe that the other big radio makers haven't gone to a no crystal set up with their newer radios. I guess their making too much money on those over-priced crystal sets!

My problem is that RCCA likes to re-write history in the image of their biggest sponsors. Like the time(the Pro 3 review) they said HPI had the first purpose built racing sedan. I swiftly reminded the author that Yokomo had been making purpose built(and very expensive) sedans long before HPI entered the ring.

You can even see it in their latest issue. In the TC3 vs. XXX-S article, you can tell they want to re-write history, but are force to tell the truth. "the TC3 wasn't the first shaft drive sedan, but... and "the XXX-S wasn't the first, and isn't the only single belt tourer, but.....

Maybe when they review the Novak Switch, they'll mention you guys when they say "this is the greatest 'invention' since sliced bread, but...."

Default 2 questions

Is there a way to adjust the sub-trim on the lynx? (Change the % of steering that each click of the trim represents)

Will the 27mhz DCX receivers work with all 27 band FM Transmitters? (Airtronics M8?)

No, there isn't a sub trim option.
For Air radios on 27Mhz, you need DCX model# 24327.

You will also need to use Hitec Dual Conversion x'tals.

OK, here is what the switch does........

You have 2 sides of the switch.
Side one:
Has 2 leads coming from it
One has red & black wires(a)
ones has Red, black & yellow(b)

Side two:
Has one lead coming from it
Red, black & yellow(c)

All the switch does is switch the red wire.

It connects the red wire from(a) to the red wire from either (b) or (c) depending upon switch location.
The yellow from (b) connects directly to the the yellow from (c)
The black from (b) connects directly to the black from (c)
Neither one is controlled by the switch.

With the switch in the ON position:
(a) connects to (c)
This is the position for RUN/DSC

With the switch in the OFF postion:
(a) connects to (b)
This is the postion for charge

(a) connects to the battery
(b) is the charge/DSC connector
(c) connects to the Rx

Is this what you where looking for?
If not, let us know....
Does this mean that you have to disconnect your failsafe in order to use the DSC?

TIA. Jim.

Nope, the failsafe has nothing to do the DSC function. As long as the failsafe is getting a signal, it'll function properly. I've never had disconnect my failsafes.

Tres: I'll have the engine in the car next week. Then I'll take some pics.

Now, I don't know how good the pics of the wiring will be.....the reciever box on the ReflexNT is quite small, and once I got all that stuff in there, I don't know if I want to open it up to take pics!

I will get pics of the car and the Hitech switch wired up on the car once I plop the engine in. The switch is working perfectly. Allowing charging in the "off" position and DSC in the "on". Gotta love it.

TTT,
Anyone encounter this problem besides me?

Hitec,

Question for ya. I race with a front 1-way on my electric car and a tuning technique is to set the Brake EPA between 60-80% depending on traction to prevent spinning out. However, whenever I do this, my neutral point creeps and my car will start creeping forward. Am I doing anything wrong or is this normal? Why does EPA affect the neutral setting? This is done with a 3D, DCX receiver, LRP Quantum competition speedo.

The throttle trim will affect the end point of the servo but the end point should not affect the trim.... I don't know.
