Im just getting back into racing after about a year off.Where I live there are no onroad tracks,so Im switching to offroad.Im going to be running an Adam Drake 2.The question I have is this,I went to my LHS to buy a radio.I found a CRX on clearence for 135.00,the kid that worked there said I didnt want it.I asked him why and he said they were'nt that good and there were some programming issues.Ive never used a Hitec radio I dont know anything about them. What kind of issues are there?

Hello,
I have the CRX synth version and it has been a good reliable radio for over a year now. It has great features for the price, i.e..20 model memory, abs, more adjustments than I know what to do with. The only issue I have with my radio is the case cracked around the wheel. I sent it to Hitec and they repaired it and I have not had a problem since. They have great customer service to their customers and are very helpful. I have heard people criticize their quality but with the exception of the problem with the case all their products I own have worked great, I use their servos as well. It is a good radio and I think you will like it.

Thanks for the reply.
I live in Socal. and Mike and Hitec have a very good reputation here for customer service.I was surprised to hear this salesperson say that it was a "POS".I have used Hitec servos with never a problem.Im hoping Mike will have a comment or two to add!!

I have been using the CRX since pre-production.....
GREAT RADIO!!!
I found the best feature yet, I was on the driver stand for 1 hour straight the past weekend at the Kyosho race(two 30 min A-Mains back to back), the CRX is VERY light compared to other radios.
Not a single issue with the radio all weekend.
I have had ZERO programming issues.
$135 is a great price for a radio of the features of the CRX.

All Im going to say is that it was a Hobbypeople.Im not trying to start a fued.I worked at a HP parttime and I dont know what happened to them. All they sell now is their crap and everybody else sucks.Everyone has their own opinions on things,I just hate being told what I could afford is garbage.Ive used Hitec servos in the past with no problems,I was surprised to hear anyone say that Hitec was a POS.

It's so funny how the car guys always feel that what they use is the absolute best and everything is is junk.
It's pretty much all good stuff now... even Chevy and Ford. Well.... I don't know if I'd go that far!
Are you coming to the Hitec race since you live in So Cal?
Mike.

Id love to come to that race, unfortunately where I live there are no onroad tracks.I moved here from Las Vegas and I told myself I would go to Revelation(I live in Temecula BTW) to race---yeah right!!Im not willing to drive 60 miles to race. The same goes for this race, its too far, plus I sold all my on road stuff.I really dont want to race offroad but I really miss the competion.

I have been using a CRX for a little under a year now, and I've got to tell you the radio has performed faultlessly. That's running 2 or 3 classes depending how crazy I'm feeling it's easy to program and settings are easy to get to , my only complaint about the radio is that it doesn't store youir steering dual rate for when you switch to a different model.
