Hi guys

I bought a 925MG two plus months back and was very happy with the performance...but it didn't lasted long. On the second day of usage, the nylon gear was stripped off about half of the set of teeth. Got it replaced FOC after a week of waiting at my LHS. A week later, the servo decided to go on strike and refused to work. Sent it back to my LHS and finally got it back after two long months of waiting.

Was told by my LHS that the motor inside was burnt due to the 6V battery pack I used for my Rx. Have you guys come across such matter? Was recommended to get a 6V regulator to connect in series to the battery pack. Please advice so I can have some ease while running my car down the straight. Don't want to pick up pieces of my car on the track.:smile:

How did you break the gear?

Where are you located?

Did the LHS send it to Hitec for the service?

You should not use a regulator, it will limit the amperage and the servo will not like it. A 5 cell battery is fine.

If you stripped the plastic outer portion of the M/P gear you had to have put a tremendous load on it which could also be detrimental to the motor.

You should never give it to your LHS to send it back for you. If you are in the US or Canada our turn around time is about 5-7 working days plus shipping time. So the hobby shop may have waited a month before they sent it in.

I am in Singapore. The 925MG is used as a throttle servo on a Kyosho V1S. I am not sure how the gear got stripped on the 2nd day. I merely left the battery on while tuning my steering servo(Sanwa ZR) and the next moment the 925 just started to whine. There was some sign of glitching before the whinning.

According to my LHS, they sent it to the Hitec factory for repair. I sent it back because they are the only shop dealing with Hitec stuffs. Furthermore, I got the servo from them and it spoilt within such a short time; thus the 1st thing on my mind is get an answer there. Was told that servicing will take a month but eventually it took 2.

As for the regulator, can you please elaborate a little more? I am an idiot when I deal in electrical stuffs. My LHS guys are into flying heli and planes more than cars. They told me that the more delicate a servo, it's better to regulate the voltage input. I am confused??? You being the Hitec company representative tells me a total different thing.:confused:

The voltage regulator also limits the current the servo can pull. That is what can cause a problem. This is even more critical with a digital servo. Hitec servos can handle far more than 6V without a problem. Some of the 1/5th racers are using them with 6 cell RX packs with no problems.

Nothing has poofed yet, and nothing seems wrong... would it void warrenty to open the case and see what falls out? lol.:nod:

I fix HS625MG on the wild willy2, seem the steering triming keep on shifing. what the problem cause this?
