Default Receiver Shift and compatibility

Ok I know that Ko, Air, And Jr all work on a positive shift and Futaba and Hitec work on a negative shift which leads me to my question.......Lets say I have a Hitec radio, will a futaba reciever work as well as the hitec? Also lets say I have a JR radio, will a KO or Airtronics receiver work also since they are on the same shift??

Now I know that most companies will tell you to use only the receiver that is the same as the radio but is this really true. I have a friend that uses a Ko radio and all Jr receiver's.

Yes & yes......

You can use other brand Rx's as long as you use that brand x'tals in them.....

If you use the Hitec DCX Rx's, you must use the Hitec DC x'tals no matter the shift.

Just to make sure I have this right. I can use a Futaba Transmitter with a Hitec Receiver as long as I use Hitec Crystals in both? and if it is a DCX receiver I have to use DCX crytsal in both?

2canSAM: Use that x'tals that go with your Tx....
If you have a Futaba Tx, Use Futaba X'tals in the Tx, Air, use Air x'tals & so on....

Use Hitec Dual Conversion in the DCX....
Dual Conversion is for the Rx only....

the Hitec dual conversion will only work with dual conversion crystals...
Is there anyway I can trade in a like new Dual conversion rx and a new Hitec HFS-04MI 27 mhz receiver for something I can use..like servos?

You might try the FOR SALE section on this board. But, there is no trade-in type of deal through Hitec.....

Default JR-R1 needs receiver.

I have a JR-R1 tx and i need another receiver, can theHitec DCX Rx's be used? and if so what kind of crystals are required?

Do i have to change the module in the r-1 to use the DCX?

thanks.

fuse01: Yes, you can use the DCX...
27MHz
part# 24327

75MHz
part# 24375

No, you will not need to swap the module....
You will need to use FM, not PCM...

Order the Dual Conversion Hitec x'tals....

Sine we are talking about the JR R1. Does HItec make a Spectra module that will work with the TX. I'm getting tired of Hauling all kinds of Xtals..

For that matter how about one for the KO Mars EX1?

if they are available what are the part numbers so I can be sure to get the correct module(s).

Thanks

Rich

New question
Does Hitec have separate FM Spectra modules using 27, and 75 bands?
