Serious Hitec servo problems

Haven't posted here in awhile, but I figured I got to get around to this now after today's problems. Let me first just start from the beginning. I would like to know how long my servos are supposed to last in working condition. I ask this because not one Hitec servo I've owned has ever worked past 6 months. This is quite disturbing to me. To date, I have had 1 300BB, 3 605s, and now my ditigal 5625 is giving me problems. the 1 300BB and the 605s are toast. They don't work anymore. The last 605 that went out on me lasted no longer than about 4 months off the top of my head. I can get out reciepts though to see when I purchased them. When the first 2 605s went out, I just figured it was my luck, got a couple of bad servos, life goes on. When the third one went dead I was getting pretty upset and started to question the quality of Hitec's servos (BTW, I race, that's about it. I don't run through water and I take care of my stuff). After the 3rd 605 went dead, I took my ditital 5625 from my touring car and put it into my XXXNT so I could race with it still. Today, that 5625 would just abrubtly stop working. The throttle Airtronics servo was still working just fine. I put my Airtronics throttle servo on the steering channel to make sure it wasn't the receiver, and it worked just fine again. While the power was turned on (on the car) the 5625 wouldn't respond (nor make that digital noise) and it was somewhat tough to turn my tires, but no where near the holding power it usually has when it works properly. With the power off, it moved smoothly like it always does with the power off. So, somehow it is still getting some power. I would jiggle the cords, but nothing happened. I would sit there for about 10-20 minutes, then miraculously the 5625 would respond again like there were no problems. I'd drive for a few minutes, then Zap!, no response again, all the while my airtronics throttle servo worked as if everything was alright. Right now, I just turned on my radio and the car, and sure enough it responds again. I refuse to have this ridiculous problem during a race with an expensive servo that is no older than 3 months!!!!!! Please help me Hitec, I don't want to have to go to another company for servos since I stand behind your products (I just bought a new CRX radio and love it), but three blown 605's and now my 5625 acting strangely is concerning me greatly. What should I do?

Ok, but the servo saver isn't too tight. it is set just fine..... So how do I go about getting my servo(s) fixed? I would prefer them working longer than what they usually do. Is there any sort of warranty for them? Is there anything else you can think of that would cause my digital servo to work just fine then seemingly turn off, then work fine again?

okay hate to add to this butt we have had repeated problems on our 1/5ths.. have not found a solution and may be over tasking the servos.. throttle brake servos.. often 645mg's, fail at about 8 or 10 races.. starts with a glitch feel and ends up just stop turning.. the minimum servo spec is 9kg for cable brakes and throttle, and most of our racing is on a oval, so very little brakes are ever used, and i have tried on each of the cars everything that i know of to reduce srvo stress.. the jr's are holding fine same as the futabas, and the digital hitech seem to be up to par so far.. now to the steering servo.. the big dog, the 1/4 scale hitech, good for about a lap or two races for most drivers( with correct end points,) the digital one seems to work well and last after you go through a few of them, usually they just quit moving in a day or so of use.. occasionally they glitch at speed and you chase a radio problem, and lots of broken parts( high speed oval with cement wall breaks lots of stuff when you turn right in the middle of the straight.. ) then you figure out the servo is the issue.. the multoiuplex servo is very very reliable does a great job just a bit slow... so not sure if we are in a bad batch from the local hobbystore, but when 10 drivers all have a similar problem it usually is more than operator error.. we have had great luck on all of our servicing and most failures happen so fast we return them as defective... ( if the sservo does not last a day i am not sending in for warrantee) but is there a failsafe in the digis kicking in, is there a way to reset without the silly programmer that none of us need?? or is there something very basic the servos are requiring that no one elses are?? thanks

hmmm....ammdrew, very well thought out and interesting point. I took Hitec's advice and really loosened up my servo saver on my truck. Wow, no centering now with my tires! At least I am driving a XXXNT off-road where steering corrections are much easier to cope with than what they would be for on-road. Well, I have had better luck with this servo now not failing nearly as much (thanks for the idea and support Hitec. I appreciate it). However, it didn't completely solve the problem. Extended use past 15 minutes or so, or if my front tires pick up some damp dirt/mud, the strain increases on the servo and once again simply turns off. I've never had another servo do this, on the digital. It does appear that the digi's have some sort of failsafe because if I let it sit for a good 15 minutes or so, it will function again as if nothing was ever wrong.

what voltage and amps does your BEC put out? I had a simular problem in two of my monster trucks, they both ahve the Hitec 5945 digital. In my Savage when the rx pack gets low on charge the steering servo will stop working but the thyrottle will be fine. In my TXT-1 I am running the digital up front and a standard in the rear for 4WS and under high loads it would do the same. I added a rx pack to the TXT and now it works fine until the rx pack get low on charge.
Just a thought.
Just a thought.
