Hey,
I have an HPI Savage that I have put a JR XR3 radio and receiver into. With the radio and receiver I also installed an Airtronics 94359z for steering. Eventually I bought a Hitec 5625 Digital for throttle servo duty. I plugged the 5625 in and turned on the radio and receiver. The servo wont respond to commands. It wont return to center. After hitting the gas I noticed that as soon as I let go of the throttle it would immediatley go to full brake. I tried every setting in the radio and nothing seemed to solve the problem. Can someone please help me?

Kinda confused.
If it doesn't respond to commands, how does it go to full brake after you hit the gas?
There are a couple of things to check.
Which servo horn are you using?
Are you using ABS on the radio?

Sorry let me clarify.
I put the servo in the truck and put it out on the track. I start going down the straight and as soon as I let off the throttle it immediately goes to full brake. I tried changing all the throttle settings on the radio and nothing fixed it.
1.using stock HPI horn. I can only use the HPI horn because of the way the throttle linkage is setup stock. The HPI horn has a built in servo saver.
2. The JR XR3 does not have ABS.

It looks to be using Futaba radio equip.
If so, the stock servo saver would NOT have the number of teeth for a Hitec servo(24).
Does it work ok if you re-center the servo saver for a short time?

ChrisE;
Sounds like you need to remove the servo ARM (saver), allow the servo to re-center, then reinstall the arm.
Use the ATV/EPA adjustment (if any) to set the throws and you should be all set.
Also make sure the Splines on the servo Arm match the brand of servo you are using (in this case Hitec). If it slips, this could cause the problem you describe.

Mike,
I also have a 5625 servo installed for steering on a NTC3 which intermittently wouldn't go back to center. Any tips on rectifying this bug would be greatly appreciated.
thanks,
p.s.
this servo has been sent in for service twice last year because it just stopped working for no apparent reason.
