I have had a couple of HFX speed controls in different vehicles. I traded one away last summer and now I need a new one. I was happy to see that Tower still carries them, and you still make them.
Have they been upgraded? Regardless, I took a competitors esc out of my cart and put in a HFX. I will be getting an HFX later for my son as well.

I just got it today from Tower. It is not red but black. It is red on the cardboard box.
Also the knob on it is really wiggly like flopping around. Is that going to be OK? I have not installed it yet.

The black is just older stock then still in circulation with some of the shops. Other than the color, there are no differences between them.
Is the knob turning the potentiometer it is connected to? This controls the current to the motor. If it looks like there may be a problem with it, give Tower a call, or contact our customer service department so they can take care of it for you.

Should I return it to Tower?
