Default Frustrated

Hi, I have a Savage with a Spektrum Dx2 reciever and transmitter. I am running the HS625 servos for the steering and the throttle, but am having alot of problems. I plug everything in and I hear a buzzing sound from the servos and its like there both locked. Ive tried spektrums "re-bind" and also removed the servo horns to see if there was a binding issue there, but nothing. At first I thought maybe it was the reciever or the transmitter, but when I plug in two different servos, it works fine.. The Hitec servos are both newer. Ive tried plugging the plugs in every way possible, but nothing. It really leaves me scratching my head.. Have any ideas what the problem might be? Or something I can try to make them work? When I called in, the guy wanted me to send them in before I even told him what problems I was having. I have had really good luck with these servos and run them in most my rigs. I really dont want to send them in if its not 100% necessary. Lemme know. Thanks

I would not put the 625's in an 8th scale.(wrong application)
Look more at the HSC-599xTG series.
8th scale is brutal on servos.

HS-625's should not buzz, only the digital servo's should buzz.

I would send them in for repair if they are buzzing as that is not normal.

I have a 625 for my throttle on another rc of mine, and when I plug my spektrum up to that, the steering servo works fine (a hitec 645) but the 625 wont and does the same thing. I did a google search and found alot of people are having the same probs with spektrum and the 625 servos. Im guessing there just not compaitable..

Both of these servos are brand new.

Didn't see this thread until now.
There is no reason why the 645servo works but the 625 does not. It is the same servo except for the difference of 2 gears. Does the 625 servo work with a normal 75mhz setup? There could be a problem with your 625 servo.

its two brand new servos fresh out of the box. both servos run fine with a different reciever and transmitter, but yet other servos work fine with the spektrum transmitter and reciever..Ive done some checking around and ran into quite a few others with the same exact problem with the 625's..

Are the others using Spektrum as well?

yup. Seems like the spektrum and he 625 just aint compatible. Works fine with the 645's and the 565 (I think it is) that I have but not the 625s..

Not sure, it could be an issues with servo and current draw.
As the spektrum will go into fail safe.

I know of several locals that run the HS-56xx series with spektrum.
But, none that run the 625 in in 8th scale.

I think I have a Spektrum system I can use here to do a little testing with but if the servo works as it's supposed to with other radio systems then that tells me that the Spektrum system is the fault. Why it would work with a 645 and not a 625 though is beyond me. They are the same servo.

I dunno thats what got me. There the same case and wires, just different gears right?
I tried messing with and resetting the failesafe and as far as I can tell, its totally deactivated and STILL not working with the servos.. I have NO clue..

I appriciate it if ya could try out a spektrum setup with a 625 servo. Lemme know what ya come up with.

Correct. Those servos are identical except for 2 of the gears. I'll try to do a little testing on this today.

Did a little bit of testing with one of Spektrums radio systems and did not have any problems using a 625mg servo with it. The radio would rebind correctly and worked properly with 625/645 servos and their digital versions 5625/5645.
As far as the "buzzing" sound you heard originally, that could simply be the fact that the servo is new and may be a little tight until it breaks in after a little use. Usually this little bit of noise is attributed to the case being screwed together a little tight. You can back off the case screws slightly to get rid of the sound.
